Has anyone tried the fireworks cruise? My daughter is turning 5 during our vacation, and I would like to do something special for her.

Yes, we did the one on the boat that leaves from the Floridian (I think there's an Illuminations one at EPCOT also?). It was lovely! Pricey, but we split it with all of my aunts/uncles and their families, so it wasn't too bad. It was really beautiful.
Keep Moving Forward!
Yes, I've done one from the GF too. LOVED it--very expensive. Worth doing once, though!

We did it from WL and it was the highlight of our trip. My kids were only 2 and 1, and my son still remembers it. You can also have a cake made at the WL bakery and delivered to the dock right before the trip (we did that). The boat is stocked with drinks and snacks, too. We had a lot of fun doing that and would do it again! In fact, I think we will if we can raise the funds before our Dec trip!
This and all of my posts are in the public domain. I am a lawyer. I am not your lawyer, and this is not legal advice.
I'm thinking of doing this for DH's birthday in September. Especially since his parents will be with us.
Which would be better Wishes or Illuminations?

I have heard it said that doing Wishes is somewhat better because depending on the wind direction, you could get a face full of smoke at the Illuminations cruise.
Not sure how true that is, but after my last Illuminations show, I can see how that could be the case.
The search function is like the Force. It may take practice, but the more you use it, the more control you will have over it!
I LOVED Wishes. Wouldn't pay for Illuminations for the reasons GusMan listed above.

It's really kind of a crap shoot as to which way the winds will blow. I usually stand in Canada, and on this last trip had 1 out of 3 times where the smoke was blowing in my direction. It usually goes up around France and Morocco. But then, the boats anchor right by France, so maybe your chances of getting smoked out are pretty good!
