Oswald Returns
The trash talking has really died down since Simba's Pride obtained their Master's status. If I recall, the Happy Haunts talked some good trash way back when. Anyone want to step up and fill those shoes??
Anyway, it will be nice to have two Masters teams participating for a benchmark.

We have a lot of new teams this time around... and we know you all have great MA stories to share.
Let's hear it.

I was just thinking about the "Star Tours Rule". Does this apply to the waiting area of the Enchanted Tiki Room? How about the Downtown Disney Monorail Station?

The Tiki room Lanai is considered a separate area for MA purposes, since there are restrooms and a snack bar there.
As for the Downtown Disney Monorail station, I'd say if you pass bag check and the ticket gates, you'd best be getting on a Monorail.

Star Tours Rule? Would anyone care to elaborate?

Going into the queue of an attraction, getting the information you need, then leaving out through the in door = not okay.

I take it you are then forced to ride the ride? (i.e No opting not to ride the ride at the last moment and exiting through the normal exit? ... if that made any sense.)

The rule is this: If you enter the queue, you ride the ride.
The corollary to the rule is: If you need to get into the attraction, you enter through the queue, not the exit of the queue.
And When in doubt: ASK.
For example:
"Is it ok to enter the Buzz Lightyear picture area through the store or must we ride the attraction?"
"If we enter the Tiki patio must we stay for the show?"

Actually, the "Star Tours Rule" is:
If you enter an attraction, you must stay for the full attraction/show, you may NOT walk straight through to the exit.
The rule comes from a game where teams had to find information in the queue of Star Tours and then teams were loading the attraction and just walking straight through to the exit, thereby interfering with the experience for other park guests.

Actually the rule comes from a game where teams had to find information NOWHERE NEAR the queue of Star Tours, but looked there anyway. Many of those teams, after realizing they were in the completely wrong place, walked straight through the Star Speeder when it came time to ride, thereby interfering with the experience for other park guests and prompting a phone call to us from a manager in the area.

ACTUALLY, that was the NEXT game where the "Joe can't have a hot dog because something will go wrong" rule comes from.

Hey, that's essentially the same thing I said.

Waitaminute. I thought THAT rule was "Joe can't have a hot dog because it always SOUNDS good but then it just turns out to be a huge disappointment every time."

No no no, that's the WDW version of the hot dog rule. The DL version is Joe can't have a hot dog during MA because the second one touches his lips something goes Terribly Wrong. We've determined the rule does not carry over to DCA.

I thought the Star Tours Rule also came from a quest that involved the posters at the exit and therefore people had to ride the ride to eventually see the posters?
Anyway, how do you get out of the patio area of Tiki without seeing (or entering) the show? I thought the turnstiles were just one way- but I could be totally wrong. I somehow remember getting stuck after buying a Dole Whip.
Why do people go on The Amazing Race without bothering to learn how to drive a stick shift?

Nope, they're two-way turnstiles.

FYI - Most times it is no problem to leave without staying for the show, but I have tried to leave via the two-way turnstile at the Tiki Room and been told by a cast member that leaving was not allowed. I would think the MA rule for that circumstances would be - Don't Argue with the Cast Member.

WooHoo, we'll be in the top 50!!!
(I'm going to have to look at results from other DL games we've done - I thought there were more Advanced teams then that.)

Simba checking in (late, as usual). If by benchmark you mean, "Holy cow, how did they get THAT score? Glad they can't compete for prizes!" then . . . YES.

To our recollection, the Star Tours rule reiterated the rule of "If you're going to not ride the ride, wait for your team at the exit without game materials." Just so happens that the chicken exit for Star Tours doesn't dump you out at the actual ride exit. Dropped off a team member there, then got the penalty for splitting up as she walked around the corner to the actual ride exit. We were much more careful after that one.
Ans yes, the posters were only available at the ride exit to my recollection (unless the devious MA staff found a set up on the rafters somewhere in the gift shop with which to embarass us all). The CMs I guess got wise because when we went in late in the day, they just said, "You want to go on through? No problem; just go."
