Latest chapter in the SSL Soap Opera
http://www.screamscape.com/html/disneyland_resort.html
The latest news bits claim that any new ride theme to take over Superstar Limo may not happen until 2004. Of course, weve also heard that they are looking at yet another possibly more appropriate theme as well... turning it into a Cars attraction. Cars will be the 2005 film from Pixar after Finding Nemo this summer and The Incredibles in 2004... and possibly the last Pixar/Disney film left in the existing contract.
And the saga continues

Why didn't they just put Winnie-the-Pooh in there? Think of all the money they would have saved on building prep and ride infrastructure to use on show elements.
How about a Mary Poppins ride? Or some other Disney live-action element to tie into Hollywood.

Herbie the love bug!!!!
I don't know... just being silly.
It all started with a mouse, and Tom Sawyers Island. :::wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more:::

although i think they should open and leave open the current superstar limo, im still pushin for the monsers inc redo. that one looks like it will be the best bet for disney right now since there is absolutely no mention of the great movie in eaither park at dlr. OH! wait i forgot, the big window display where sulleys arm is hanging off of his head... how silly of me to forget such a ginuine asset to the disney park system

This Cars rumor sounds great, in that it actually makes sense. Re-theming this ride to Monsters Inc doesn't make any sense storywise. It's a ride about driving through Southern California. Cars is a movie about driving through Southern California. A-ha! We have a match!
But Cars isn't coming out untill 2005. It would be strange to have the ride sit there closed another 2 to 2 1/2 years, but maybe not.

The ride has already been closed over a year. It makes TONS of sense to leave it closed and open a new dark ride for Disneyland's 50th, at DCA.
It all started with a mouse, and Tom Sawyers Island. :::wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more:::

Hi All,
Why did they close Superstar Limo in the first place? I know it wasn't a very good ride, but was there a reason besides that?
