    Solo Disney

    HELLO ALL!

I am lucky enough to be doing an adult Disney trip with one of my best friends in 17 days!!!!! Anyway I will be flying in before him, and will have about 5 hours to kill before he arrives. I was wondering if you could give me some fun ideas of things to do by myself.

I personally have been to Disney at least 15 times so I'm familar with the parks, and I'm not really interested in riding the rides alone.... Any ideas?!

Don't hate me but I got ADR's for Le Cellier!!!!!!!! Just thought I'd rub it in a little!! Cheddar Cheese Soup!!!!!!! YUMMY!

If I had solo time in the parks I would wander around Epcot. When we are with kids we don't get to linger and savor. I would grab a beverage and catch the shows around World Showcase... Just people watch and enjoy the slower pace. Sounds like heaven to me!

We are going with the fam for spring break and we have ressies at Le Cellier too!!

Are there things you like to do in the parks, that he's not a big fan of? I could listen to back-to-back-to-back sets of Voices of Liberty, but most others I go to the parks with aren't the same way - so that's something I would do with a few extra hours.

My sister has, at times, arrived about that much before me, but she took a red eye from the West coast, and my flight is only 2 hours. Usually she takes a nap so that she can last as long as I can into the evening that first day. She's about 50/50 on our room being ready at 5 or 6 am! (One time, when the room wasn't ready, it was summer, so she went to the pool area and 'napped' there!)

On a trip last summer, I took a few hours away from my family and friends, and I did Epcot by myself. It was very pleasant, and I wandered around the World Showcase, and sat through a few of the shows. I bought an adult drink, and sat outside and enjoyed it. I wandered through a few shops.

I have been considering sneaking away from DH and the kids on our next trip, too. But, I've been struggling with the guilt of visiting a park without my kids. After all, it's WDW. I'm glad you shared this, now I don't feel so bad.

I used to feel that way too, but on our last trip my kids were 13, 15 and 18. I figured it would be ok to let them wander around together a little bit to create memories for themselves while I was off doing some of the things I want to do, like taking picture after picture, rather than bore them to death with me stopping every two feet.

We spent a lot of time together, but we spent some time apart as well. Either way, it is Disney and you will have fun no matter what. Just don't forget that this is your vacation as well. (And your husband might want to wander a little too, so you both can spend quality time with your kids "alone" as well as with the whole family.) Just my opinion.

    Thanks guys!

We are actually planning on doing a drinking tour of Epcot our first night there. We're both 23 and away from work which means it time to party!

Any other ideas?! You guys are great though... I love this site, almost as much as I love Disney!!!!!!!!

Don't forget the Tequila bar INSIDE the pavillion of Mexico. one of the 'flights' that they had helped me figure out what kind of tequila I liked (if I could only remember it!)

Don't forget the sake bar at the Japan Pavilion. I forget if they have both hot and cold wines, but it was moderately priced.

We just need to park storm together sometime - VoL are my fav's too! I'm sure you are aware of this, but check out this link -

    http://www.libertyvoices.com/

There are some online audio samples from their CD's - very very nice!

And as to WDW solo, well, being a single guy I always visit solo, and I really don't mind it a bit! If you're going to be in Epcot anyway, just stroll around the World Showcase, taking your time and seeing things you don't normally spend time looking at. Meet your friends at the Rose & Crown to get a great start to your drinking around the World!
