Simba's Pride
AVP / Joe / MA Staff, I didn't see anything about this game being an invitational, so can Masters teams register by email as usual?
gfy4dland, I didn't get a newsletter either, so guessing there hasn't been one. I was very glad I read the park update.

Hmm... that sounds like a not-so-subtle hint that the trivia members of my team (read: not me) should start studying the old Twilight Zone!

Scout's honor: I haven't written the questions yet. For those of you who live and breathe MA trivia, the overall vibe is still VERY Disney. However, those of you returning teams know how much our quests and trivia embrace the theme (luau, mystery, Halloween, holidays), so it couldn't hurt to familiarize yourself with some of the more popular episodes that have become part of the pop culture cannon. Example: "To Serve Man" "Time Enough at Last" and "It's a Good Life" -- that does not mean these will be in trivia, they are just among the most referenced (and for those of you who have seen Family Guy or The Simpsons -- you might know some of them already).

For clarification...the Basic Division is at Disneyland, correct?
I have the same questions....

Newsletter?
Is there a newsletter coming out about MouseAdventure? Should I check on Facebook? I am assuming I will sign up via MousePlanet? Don't want to miss anything important! I am out of state and have just booked airfare and our team doesn't want to miss registration!

Yes, krflash, you sign up on MousePlanet.
I didn't receive a newsletter either - does that mean I'm only signed up for the WDW newsletters at this point, or was one not sent out announcing registration, yet. True, it does 'reward' the regular Facebook Fans and MousePlanet/MousePad readers with extra notification, but I would have expected to see it by now in my inbox.
(Plus, I'm trying to verify that Earthlink actually fixed the problem like they've been promising they have, so I want to make sure I really am on all the MouseAdventure mailing lists - I have my work email on the list too, and autoforward from there to my personal email does work.)

We apologize for the late notice, and are postponing registration for the Fall 2011 MouseAdventure event at Disneyland by one week to allow players enough time to plan and form their teams. Registration will now open at 8:00 a.m. PDT on Tuesday, July 19, 2011.
Follow @MouseAdventure on Twitter and/or "like" MouseAdventure on Facebook for a chance to win daily prizes, including free team registration! We'll post a new trivia question each day until registration opens; answer correctly and you could win MouseAdventure gear or free registration for your team to The MouseAdventure Zone.

The rules for the trivia contest say that the Grand Prize winner will win free registration for the Basic game. If the winner was planning to play Advanced, could they pay to "upgrade"?

HELP Please!!!
I just registered our team for the wrong MA event on accident. It's totally my fault, but need to see if someone can correct it before the event fills. I chose WDW Basic instead of DL Basic!

Still trying to clarify this. Using our example below:

According to Adrienne, we would not be eligible for the coast-to-coast challenge:

(The "rule" is 2 of the original 2-player team, 2 of the original 3-player team and 3 of the original 4-player team.)
But according to MovieBoy, we would be eligible:

We registered as a 4-person team, but it looks like only 3 will be able to make it. We could add a new 4th player but the new person was not on our DL team. Which means we would have 2 from our DL team and 2 that weren't on the DL team, obviously not a majority. If we did this, we know we would not be eligible. But if we keep the 3-person team, we may or may not be eligible. Please... someone let me know ASAP!! Thanks!!!!!
Also, does it matter that we registered as a 4-person team and there may only be 3 of us??

Re-read what I wrote...
"(The "rule" is 2 of the original 2-player team, 2 of the original 3-player team and 3 of the original 4-player team.)"
If you were a four-player team at Disneyland in the Spring, 3 of those 4 players would need to be in Walt Disney World to qualify. So if you had a 4-Player team, you'd need 3 previous players plus 1 new player. If you had a 3-Player team, all 3 would need to be from your Spring team.

And that's what I'm trying to clarify, the difference between what you and MovieBoy posted as the rules.
Also, I'm wondering if it even matters, are there at least 5 teams that qualify? If not, the point is moot, unless that changes as well.

I think where the confusion is - is that
On a 4 player team — at least 3 players must have participated on the same team in the Spring 2011 Disneyland MouseAdventure event and play on the same team in the Walt Disney World MouseAdventure event.
and you're reading 'well, I'm on a 3 player team in WDW - so the 3 player team rules apply - but I think it's both directions. So if you were on a 4 person team in DL, then 3 of those people have to be on the team in WDW. And if you're a 4 person team at WDW, then 3 of them have to have been on the DL team (either 3 person or 4 person)
We were a 2 person team in DL, but a 4 person team in WDW - so we're not eligible. If you only had 3 people on your team in DL and 2 were participating in WDW, (on a 2 or 3 person team) then you'd be ok.
We did so bad in DL, we're kind of glad we're not eligible for the Coast-to-Coast! Though I did try to get Joe to give us credit for 'more than half' by looking at age, height, or weight - since on any of those measures, the 2 that participated in DL exceed the 2 that are just going to be there for WDW only (and you can tell visually - so no measuring devices needed).

I am correct and AdrienneK has it reversed. (sorry Adrienne)
The majority of your WDW team must have played together on the same team in the Spring Disneyland game.
To clarify again:
ALL individual players that participate in a Disneyland MouseAdventure game in 2011 AND the Walt Disney World MouseAdventure game will be recognized.
To compete for the Coast-to-Coast Challenge (combined score):
On a 4 player team at least 3 players must have participated on the same team in the Spring 2011 Disneyland MouseAdventure event and play on the same team in the Walt Disney World MouseAdventure event.
On a 3 player team at least 2 players must have participated on the same team in the Spring 2011 Disneyland MouseAdventure event and play on the same team in the Walt Disney World MouseAdventure event.
On a 2 player team BOTH players must have participated on the same team in the Spring 2011 Disneyland MouseAdventure event and play on the same team in the Walt Disney World MouseAdventure event.
MouseAdventure - You ride rides?

So if I played as a 4 person team in DL - I can ditch two of my team members, drag the remaining team member along as a 2-player team and still be eligible for the Coast to Coast? Hmmm, I am not sure that I wanted to know that. When is the registration deadline for WDW?
ETA: I had assumed that the majority checked on both coasts.

Based on this, we qualify, so far. The only other question I have is that we registered as a 4-person team, with 3 of the 4 being from our MA DL team (still qualify). But 1 person is most likely not going to be able to participate, and she played on our MA DL team. Therefore, we will be playing as a 3-person team, with 2 of the 3 being from our MA DL team; if our qualification is based on our original registration, we won't qualify since there will only be 2 from our MA DL team. I'm hoping we will still qualify, based on the 3-person team.
The reason I'm still asking about this is that we have another person who could play on our team in place of the one who can't, but adding her to the team means we definitely wouldn't qualify (only 2 of the 4 would be from our MA DL team). Although she would be a great player, we don't want to unqualify ourselves by adding her. So I guess what I need to know is whether our qualification will be based on our original 4-person registration or our actual 3-person team (2 of the 3 are from our MA DL team).
