Fantasmic! schedule posted at Disney.com
Well, I just went over and checked, here is what the Fantasmic! schedule looks like.
Two performance a night at 9 and 10:30 PM starting June 13th, thru Sunday June 22nd. (The one weird thing, they show 2 performances at 9 and 10:30 on the 18th and 19th, two nights the park closes at 9 PM due to grad nights, so I wouldn't count on those!)
Then Fantasmic! goes on Hiatus from June 23rd, thru July 1st due to the VIP movie premiere.
Fantasmic! then resumes daily showings July 2nd thru August 24th, when it will switch to a weekend only schedule.

It was listed like that last year too...atleast Disney.com is consistant with the mis-information.
On a side note, scene rehearsals have started already. Supprisingly they have been holding them in the eight short hours a night that the park has been closed the past two weeks. They sure arn't wasting any time this year.
That reminds me...I must remember to get that day off so I can be sure to see the official return performance.

I've only really seen tech rehearsals focusing on one thing (sound, lighting, barges, etc.), but one night I saw a tech out in the middle of the water jets on the ROA adjusting them.
However, a couple nights ago I saw the performers out on the island practicing swinging those fiber optic things while a bunch of techs looked on, which is what they normally do during a rehearsal (at least in the actors' eyes).

first timer; general info
First time posting so not sure of procedure. 2 adults and 4-year old traveling to conference in San Diego and will get time at Disneyland- 5-21 - 5-25 before returning to S.D. Looking at hotels in Anaheim and then in S.D.
Is it preferable to first experience Disneyland by staying at one of the 3 resorts? Which one is preferred for atmosphere, offerings for kids and easy park access?
Are there any deals at Disneyland Hotel- other than 4th night free? What would be considered a good price for any of 3 Resorts?
I have picked up a lot of info from you experts, thanks.
Can the AAA Passport Plus parking allowance be used towards hotel daily parking fees? (What is that all about anyways?)
Is there still a handling charge of $13+ on the Passport Plus if I pick it up at a AAA office? Does it take 3 weeks to receive?
Can the Pass.Plus be used to visit both parks on the same day or would that count as 2 days' worth?
Do strollers have a sunshade/top/visor? Are they big enough to hold a 4-year old?
It seems as if the Howard Johnson Plaza, Candy Cane Inn and Sheraton Anaheim are highly rated. Are there any deals at Candy Cane Inn for May? How can I contact them- email address wasn't found.
Am I right in concluding the Fantasmic performance is only on in the summer? Are there nightly fireworks or only on Fri/Sat nights now?
Right now I feel bogged down with so much info, but I'm enjoying the 'hunt' trying to find good deals. Got good airfare from East Coast but no packages offered with car and hotel.
What would you recommend for the best Guidebook concerning hidden tips for doing the parks/rides' requirements/best picks, etc
Just starting to work through your site- lots of late nights ahead. Thank you all so much.

Two recommendations, check into the rates at the Howard Johnson's, seems like a lot of people have been giving great reviews about the place.
Second, check out http://www.travelaxe.net/

The best out of the three is Grand Californian, but of course, also the most expensive! As for easy park access, the NON-Disney hotels on Harbor Blvd. offer better access than the Disney hotels, who don't even offer shuttle service. (The walk to the Paradise Pier is over a 1/2 mile!)

NO (Mickey and Friends Parking Structure ONLY).. as for the fees, even if you don't have a car, they charge you the fees! (A way to jack up the price, while still advertising a lower price
Is there still a handling charge of $13+ on the Passport Plus if I pick it up at a AAA office? Does it take 3 weeks to receive?
Yes, the $13 charge (for the entire package, not each ticket) is charged for the package to be shipped from Disney Travel to the local AAA office. They ship either next-day or two-day, but they don't ship until three weeks before your trip. So that is your confusion... if you want your tickets earlier, just give an earlier date of your visit.... the tickets themselves have no date (except the expiration date of early January, 2004)
Can the Pass.Plus be used to visit both parks on the same day or would that count as 2 days' worth?
The PassportPlus is a true ParkHopper, so if you can visit either one or both parks on the same day, and it will only count as one day.
Do strollers have a sunshade/top/visor? Are they big enough to hold a 4-year old?
Yes, they have a shade covering, and just how big is your 4-year old??? (More than likely he/she should fit
Am I right in concluding the Fantasmic performance is only on in the summer? Are there nightly fireworks or only on Fri/Sat nights now?
Fantasmic! doesn't start until June 13th, and the Believe! Fireworks are weekends only in May!

By far, the Unofficial Guide to Disneyland 2003 by Bob Sehlinger.

Thanks, DarkBeer. I have already looked at travelaxe.com but see no listing for Candy Cane Inn. Any comments on that hotel or on the Sheraton Anaheim? Any way to contact Candy Cane Inn? Will definitely research HoJo's and will go now to check out Mousesavers.com. Again, thanks for the feedback and input.
