Need info. doing DLR rides with a cane

    Hello everyone
I have a question that maybe some one can help me with. I have googled it and searched Disney, but no answers there. Ill be doing DLR with a weight bearing cane. Bum ankle. So, what do people do with their canes when on a roller coaster type ride?
Its amazing what you dont notice until you need it.
    Thank you. uncle duck

I take mine with me, tuck it beside me making sure the tip is firmly on the floor of the ride vehicle and snug between my rump and the wall of the vehicle. Chances are if you have to evacuate from the attraction you'll need the use of your cane to walk out.

I can appreciate that, I use my foot to keep the tip up against the wall on the floor and my ample rump to keep the handle firm against the wall at the top and i've never had a problem with it slipping and risking it falling out on the faster coasters. I don't ride Tower of Terror so I'm not sure how you'd secure it there.

Mine fell out when we were going through the room with the hitchhiking ghosts in HM. Luckily a CM retrieved it for me and another CM walked me to my scooter.

With ToT, you can just leave it in the ride hallway, since the ride starts and ends with your group. I have left shopping bags there with no problem. The CM will usually watch and make sure no one swipes your stuff. They're pretty good about that.

    Hi everyone.
I want to thank everyone who responded. Hopefully with enough exercise I wont need to use an ecv as well. Been down that road before. A family member has suggested a folding cane. Might check it out.
Hope you all have a good Thanksgiving Bye Don

But DO use the ECV if you need it. You don't want to be paying because you didn't get it for weeks after!

Too true! And remember, you could always park it in a central location and walk to nearby attractions etc. It would save on the major hoofing around the park. We do this with my Nana and it works out great. We only go on rides with a shorter wait as a rule (being an AP has spoiled her ), and she's comfortable walking and standing for 15-20 minutes, but hauling butt from Mainstreet to NOS is a bit more than she can happily handle.
The king and his men, stole the queen from her bed and bound her in her Bones. The seas be ours and by the powers where we will, we'll roam.
