If you have an AP or Entertainment card (www.entertainment.com) you can get half off on specified days. Kind of slim pickings for half off days at the moment. If your trip doesn't fall on those days then you still get 15 or 20% off regular rate
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah!
Last trip: July 19-July 23 Upcoming trip: September 14-September 17
Theres a link on mousesavers for the discount. There's an additional discount if you are an annual passholder which we used this July...got an awesome family suite for the 5 of us for $130 a night! Have fun!
So Excited!
I am in an AP $59 a night room right now, I planned my trip around when the Hojo offers the super discounted rates.
Please remember I am a guy. If you found anything in the above post offensive, I cannot help it. For more info, see Brad Paisley's "I'm just a guy."
As of October 19, they have listed January dates but none in February. Link.
Just booked at the Howard Johnson for two adults and three kids (16, 14, 7) for the following dates and rates:
Kid's Suite
Feb 19 -- $148
Feb 20 -- $148
Feb 21 -- $148
Feb 22 -- $99
Feb 23 -- $99
Standard 2 Queen
Feb 24 -- $59
Feb 25 -- $93
This is all at the Entertainment rate with only the 22, 23, and 24 getting the supper great rate. Also the Kid's suite was not available for the 24th or 25th. I will be calling to see if anyone cancels and we can stay in it the whole time.
So, for those first three nights and the last night is there a better rate? I seem to remember there is a Mouse Planet rate. I have also just hit the age where I could join AARP whose membership costs $16/year so if there is a rate for that it could be worth it.
We are on a tight budget this year and aren't even sure if we will end up making this trip or cancelling it. Doing our taxes will be the determining factor.
The reason those first nights are so much higher is simple supply and demand. It's Presidents Day Weekend.
To get the MousePlanet rate - just click on the banner ad at the top of this forum, and it'll say what the discount is and how to book that discount.
You can also call the hotel directly (NOT the general Howard Johnson's number - the Anaheim specific one) during normal business hours, and they're super great to help you figure out what the best rate is for you.

For the kids suite, the cheapest you'll get is $99/night. The MP discount isn't any better than the typical ET rate discount outside of the few special rate days. Meaning, with the ET card on the days the special rate isn't available you still get a small discount of around 15%. The MP discount is only 15% too.
Clearly I have a great rate for the 22nd, 23rd and 24th; it isn't going to get any better than that. I am wondering if I can do any better for the 19th, 20th, 21st, and 25th.
Who knows after I do my taxes I may not be worried about it, but I am expecting to have to pay a fortune. What I might end up doing is shortening the trip. I have always gone for three days. This time I thought we would get five day tickets and be more relaxed about the trip -- spend more time relaxing at the pool, going to the beach, getting tickets for Connan... (and yes I do know it will be February).
Was the 30% off for the longer stay a special promo code/message you had, or did you just find it when you booked online or called them directly? I have a reservation for the kid's suite for end of June, but the special Ent Rate wasn't available yet, and the 30% off would be better than the regular Ent rate and wondered how to see if I could update to at least that lower rate if it's available in June.
Thanks!
No special code. I orginally booked the AP rate on the kid's suite for the period. I just happened to go back into the HOJO system and did a quote for no discounts. The 30% 3 nights or more came up as one of the rates. So, I cancelled the reservation and rebooked at this offer. It is also on the Wyndham site which I use when booking to earn free nights which is relatively easy to earn. Not sure the dates on this offer. Nice though since they are offering it during a holiday period when the other discounts are lessor!
I just saw that HoJo added a ton of discounted dates on their page.

Unfortunately we're going in June, so I'll keep watching and hope something might open up. Thought I'd update the thread for others watching for HoJo Discounts.
