Important Update:There were 608 points possible in this event:
When I posted the scores last night I mentioned that this was about the closest scoring we've dealt with in a LONG time, and four people spent Wednesday night going over each answer sheet to verify grading and scoring. The scores were so close that at one point there were three people holding copies of a photo of the painting used for the "Face Painting" quest and checking off each character name as I read it from the answer sheets to make sure we hadn't made a single 1pt. mistake that would cost a team a ranking. There was (and is) no doubt in my mind that the human-graded answer sheets are accurate.
Unfortunately, none of us thought to double check the results from the not-a-scantron machine used to grade the trivia.
After receiving some notes from teams who questioned their scores, we took (yet another) look at the results, and unfortunately found an error in the data export from the not-a-scantron machine. We have manually corrected that error, and the corrected results are posted below.
As embarrassing as this situation is, it's really important to me that teams know that we DO take grading seriously, and that we DO pay attention when you say, "hey, something isn't right here." We *should* have checked the computer results, and that's a mistake we won't make again. To the teams who have dropped out of the winner's circle, and to the teams who should have been recognized yesterday and were not, I sincerely apologize.
