So far nothing has happened as far as I can tell. When Space last went into a regular rehab you could tell that something was going on. So far I havent seen a thing going in or out of the place since it's been closed.

I hope they paint it white again. Or white blue and silver if they wanna get all "hip and edgy" about it. Anything but fecal brown, blech!

There used to be a food stand under the old rocket jets that sold space mist (a fruit punch slushy) and hostess twinkies. I believe that the radio Disney booth is now located in its space.

    MMMMMMmmmmmmm. Space Mist and Twinkies.

Oh, I am so having a flashback of consuming those yummables at the tables just under the peoplemover loading platform.

you know... I think the thing I want changed the most is the entrance (outside). there is all that wasted space above the HISTA theater. And it just doesn't make any sense. always looks dirty and broken-down.

    thats my space mountain dream.

Oo Ooo and the moving walkways in the exit are NEVER running.

Call me crazy, but I miss the moving ramp that took you to the old line above HISTA. It's been so long since I 've been on that, that I almost forgot about it.

I miss that little ramp/escalator to the queue area. It was neat to be able to turn around and see everything happening in TL-- plus it made it easy to get some kind of an idea about the length of the SM line when you came around Star Traders. The most recent line for SM felt like it was shoved back in the forgotten recesses of the park.

I also miss the 2-story Starcade and hope they revive it. Seems dead there with it and the Peoplemover both gone. The fast food restaurant (where current fast-pass SM machines are) should also be reopened. The whole exterior of the ride lacks the sense of activity it used to have IMO.

    Here's my wish:

    1) Paint it white. I miss those white spires!
    2) Return the HISTA theater to an open-air stage for bands, etc. I remember watching my big sister go nuts over seeing David Cassidy on that stage, while I stood in line with my dad for SM. It had such a great ambience! It seems that Tomorrowland had such a lively atmosphere back in the late 70's/early 80's. They need that liveliness to return!
    3) Bring back the moving ramps in the queue!
    4) Have some kind of "memorial" to the flying space "cookie", maybe in the queue? Or change it to a 3D hologram so it'll fly right at you.
    5) Most importantly, use the latest technology and don't make it cheap, like Poohper Star Limo.

and as for Tomorrowland in general:

Put the Astro Orbiter back on top of the People Mover track where it belongs!!! (Right now, it's a higher-speed Dumbo with gold paint.) I don't think anyone will miss that thing that lights up and spins its recycled satellite dishes.

    Ah, well.... I can dream, can't I??

Disneyphile, you're my hero! I couldn't agree more about the open-air stage, but I didn't want to go there. I was afraid that I would be dating myself Right on about the CCC (Choc. Chip Cookie). TL also lost a lot when Peoplemover was closed.

Hey, and then they could book various bands for the newly returned stage - kinda like a "50 years of Disneyland" concert series - do one each weekend, featuring a different artist/band from each year.

Ah, to stand in line for SM while listening to live music again.......

Let me add: get rid of the Disney radio station inside TL too. Who, inside the park, is going to be able to hear it? Not only that, Disney originally designed the park so that it would not have anything that would remind the guest of the outside world. That was supposedly why airplanes were banned from flying overhead. There were mailboxes placed throughout the park, so the guest did not have to worry about leaving to mail a letter. You could literally "leave the world behind" as you entered DL. We don't need a radio station (of all things) inside the park's berm. OK OK call me bad words, but I have never thought that was a good idea (except for New Year's Eve, of course )

Radio Disney is actually piped out of the speakers right in front of the studio so you can hear it inside the park. Not that you'd want to....

    Awright! Space Mist...

Hi SteveK...whoever you are, you're my new best friend, LOL! I totally remember space mist and twinkies. Infact, my sister got her first job working there for 2 years and I used to bug her all the time in the summer. Cuz that's when I used to watch a very popular stage show called...*Show Biz Is*, that performed on the Space Stage during the day and at one point, in the evening. I remember when they had 8 shows daily there, the day cast and the night cast...it was AWESOME!!

But going back to the space mist, that was a really good drink and a place I miss a lot now!! Since then, my sister has moved on and has worked with the Walt Disney Travel Company for the past 20 years in management. Her and I still have fun talking about the *good 'ol days*, with her job there and selling so many space mist drinks and twinkies. And talking about how Tomorrowland used to be...FUN!

Anyway, thanks Steve, for bringing that topic up. You made my day and put a smile on my face! It's nice to know there are others out there who remember little details like that.

Final note...BRING BACK TOMORROWLAND THE WAY IT USED TO BE AND MAKE IT EXCITING AGAIN!!

They're probably tunneling in from underneath the berm
[B][SIZE=3]"G'day, is this seat taken?" 3894's smile froze as the handsome bear of a man folded himself next to her in the Matterhorn sled. "Since we're getting to be so close," he said in a voice that sent shivers of awareness through her. "I'd better introduce myself. Lashbear." He offered a big, square hand. She took it, lacing his fingers with her own."3894. Or Helen. Your pleasure."

TL was SO cool in the early 80s! You had SM with the speedramp up the front, Captain Eo in the theatre, great bands at TLT, America Sings rotating and looking ever so cool, the Peoplemover, the (oooh, aaah) speakerphone booths and (for the briefest of time) Adventure through Innerspace!

They must be, there are no signs of life backstage around Space either. The only thing I've noticed so far were a few random old electronic hardware cabinets that appeared outside. Other then that, there is nothing major going on as of yet.
