So forecast suggests 20% chance of rain tomorrow and Tuesday, should I pack heavy rain gear? Or just umbrella and a slicker? Coming on from far away, so packing is a concern. Hope the trick or treat party will still be a go. Any tips? Thanks

I would pick up some cheap ponchos like they sell in the camping gear section at walmart and some umbrellas that fold up small. Rain usually comes and goes pretty quickly unless it is a drizzly day...

Ponchos. You won't want to open and close the umbrellas after awhile. Also, your hands will be free, and it's easier to keep an eye out for people if you're keeping a group together, the umbrellas block your view.
Wear good shoes, it gets slippery. Once someone in our group slipped and fell walking into Indiana Jones in the rain, really brought down everyone's day.
Also, if it's really raining (this is Southern California, so it might just drizzle) there will be puddles. I've worn jeans that are close to the ground, only to end up soaked half way to my knees, while other people who are more *ahem* "ready for the flood" were fine.
And have fun, Disneyland can be fun in the rain!
Ponchos are your friend.
Southern California has its share of downpours, too.Originally Posted by AnotherJenny
I agree. One of my all-time favorite trips to Disneyland was one during which it was a downpour from about noon all the way through the rest of the night. It was still rain at closing time. When it started, the store quickly brought out ponchos and we bought some, and we had so much fun the rest of the day in the rain. It was great!Originally Posted by AnotherJenny

Disneyland is the BEST in the rain!!! Everyone goes home and you have the park to yourself. Not sure if it will still be busy though because of the Halloween things going on. But really, I LOVE Disneyland in the rain.
The ramp to Space Mountain gets very slippery as well!
I've had that same thing happen with jeans. So fustrating! If it does get pretty wet on the ground I try to give them just a little turn up, for the sake of my shins that would freeze otherwise.
Ponchos work, we also like the packable rain jackets and windbreakers.
Keep Moving Forward!
Probably to late but I always take an extra pair of shoes, nice to have a dry pair while the others may be drying out.

I've found that it usually doesn't get very cold when it rains. I'm used to CA weather though, and when it rains in the winter it makes the temps a little warmer. In high school, on rainy days, I would actually wear flip flops and capris! Of course, I spent most of the day inside. But that way I didn't have wet feet all day!
I love Disneyland in the rain. Ponchos are great. Extra shoes and socks can be helpful too. I'm use to So Cal weather, so I don't think its all that cold right now with the rain, so open shoes is the way I go(Teva style) Zip lock bag for camera, phone and anything else also is a good idea. Plus it helps on Splash Mt.
Have a great time.

We noticed that they were selling a packable jacket in the parks yesterday for $9.95. It was actually fairly attractive. Light blue with a castle detail on the back and then a gray overlay detail at the top. It almost looked like something a CM would wear, just thinner.
It seemed like everyone was wearing one (if they didn't have on a poncho). It didn't seem to have a hood, though, which struck me as a flaw.
We wore our rain jackets or ponchos yesterday, along with sturdy (waterproof) shoes. I should have worn a thicker sweatshirt but we were pretty comfortable.
Sadly, it didn't rain hard enough yesterday to chase out all the guests, just enough to close down some of the rides.
So I'm reading my bean feed...

I always use a poncho and wear Keane's (water sandals). I don't like soggy tennis shoes and/or socks and Keane's provide great traction on slippery surfaces.
Target sells a very nice packable jacket with a hood. I just tie the drawstring to my belt when I'm not wearing it. When I was at Disneyland last year (during the Rain Gear Games...but not a participant), I realized I forgot to bring it and ran down the street Target to get another. It was a trip of many forgotten things, I believe I was at Target three times.
