Fall menu! YAY! That means DH and I are due for a trip. I doubt we'll be able to fit one in before December. Boo.

Counter reservations made! Blue Foot chicken, you will be mine!

I might have a little ahi carpaccio in Adrienne's honor, since she was so thoughtful, pointing out the ending date of this week's menu.

So I'm reading my bean feed...

You're such a giver, E. Can I point out that the carpaccio isn't on the Vintner's menu? Or are you going to ask for a tasting and tell the chef that you MUST have the Blue Foot chicken and the carpaccio?

Gosh, thanks Adrienne, but I am fully aware of the contents of the menu at this point. I'm thinking of ordering the tuna "just because." That's how much of a giver I am.

If so, I will be sure to send you a photo and a description so keep that phone handy.

Look, E! In your attempt to torment me, you're tormenting other innocent members. (So you're saying you don't want me to forward the texts to you, fairest? Because she wasn't kidding. She WILL send them to me. I'll just ignore them.)

I'd so love to eat there, but I have a feeling everything would be too fancy for DH. His culinary tastes run on the non-exotic side.

Hmmm. Perhaps during the scrapbooking weekend?

Shna, my husband doesn't do the fancy either but he will occasionally go for my sake. He has a lovely steak and a Bud Light. Oh, and a salad. He does just fine.

LOL!! Seriously, I thought I was the only one that sent text of what I was eating (or cooking at NRCS) at Napa Rose.

The Bon Appetit food columnist says it's tacky to take pictures of your food while you are out. Oh yeah? Well phooey on you columnist! If someone is going to present me with delicious, artful food, I may take a picture of it. I may also take notes.

I vote for relief you're not alone. I have lots of pictures of NR food; I promise not all were taken by me.

Wait until I post my living ton of pictures from our dinner on Saturday. (And my husband made sketches!) If I have a disorder, I am perfectly willing to share it with everybody.

I could see situations where it would be tacky to take pictures of your food.

Like, if you were sitting next to the Queen of England.

Or if you were on a job interview.

Or if there were a sign on the door that said "Don't take pictures."

I think it's a lot more tacky to take phone calls during a meal.

But I totally get taking pictures of your food. Last weekend, my husband and I had an AMAZING dinner in Napa. Amazing. Amazing chef, amazing food, I only got the reservation because a friend called in a favor.

As I was apologizing to the server for my food geekiness, she laughed and said that she really LIKES it when her guests are enjoying their experience.

So maybe it's tacky but we're not being obnoxious. We have fine restaurant manners. We're having a good time. We're being friendly with the wait staff- not complaining, easy to work with. We're appreciating the fine meal.

AND... we're also doing free marketing for these restaurants!!!! Most of my FB friends didn't know about Napa Rose before they say the pictures on my FB page, LOL!

I find it almost completely impossible to believe that there is someone even remotely connected to you who doesn't know about Napa Rose.

In fact, I'm pretty sure Kevin Bacon himself knows about Napa Rose. You probably need to be more than 6 degrees from you to have missed the memos.

LOL. It doesn't necessarily come up naturally in alllll conversations. There are Scout and Church people who don't know about it.

Except now I have to figure out how to get back to the Bay Area more often because I need more excuses to go to Boulevard and Redd...
