    MouseAdventure Rapup... A+

Well, the Adventure is over and everything went pretty darn well and has removed the bad taste in my mouth from the previous one. All of the staff did a great job with this one and I WANT that duck hat!

Like I have stated in the past this is my last MA, and this means starting tomorrow Sophie832 will be beginning the process of softening me up until I finally agree to play in the next one.

I am curious to know what the unweighted times of other teams was. Our time was 1:32, 17 min in bonus time off (BINGO and 1 pic), for a total of 1:15. Looking at the areas we messed up with I think that the best possible time unweighted would be 1:25.

Thanks again to the staff and everyone who played... and maybe I will "find my Laughin' Place" for the next one. *singing* "Ev'rybody Has a Laughin' Place, a Laughin' Place, to go-o-o..."

One "Original Six" arena down, 5 to go... look out Toronto!!

Anyone for a nice waffle or donut this morning?

Well, it's great that you had FUN . . . but who WON?

  4. #3

Well, now that my feet have had about an hour of rest, let me tell you about ours. May not make sense to some, but to others you'll understand.

Bubbles? How were we supposed to see BUBBLES! And to think I was thinking Innoventions.

Don't you just love looking like an idiot while trying to look for drums?

Coffee, Fruits, and Vegatables. Who woulda thought.

How many drifferent kinds of water are there?

BTW: Congrats to Gauchograd99 and Sophie832! No more USC kids to take your spot

    I am Potterized!

BTW: We turned ours in a 2:59:30. I mean it. But thanks to Lani and her wonderful chicken, it turned out to be 2:49:30

We took third... we actually MADE THE TOP 3... which is kinda funny as when we heard the time I said "4th again" to Sophie832. Imagine the suprise when it was us. Well, you can pretty much guess that the usual cast were in the top 3 (the list should be posted soon) with us the exception as far as I remember.

Serious. The DRUM SET in NOS really got us. It was such a tricky thing! It was RIGHT THERE but it doesn't count!

Urg. and I was looking Inno for bubbles too

well i can say that for one, this MA was 10x better for us, than the last one, much more high paced, much more exjoyable.

we finished with a rw time of 1:53:00 with bonuses getting 3 fastpasses, the bingo, finding lani, and various eyespy and trivia - i was hoping for a time of 1:30 or so...(i didnt read how much bonus time the fastpasses or anything gave us... we split right after finding out we didnt place top 3, we was TIRED!!)

in retrospect, we didnt have ANY problems with any of the puzzles, which kinda worried us all along, but we were very happy to find out that we got them all right!

lol, props to Alex and the gang, my team and I even got approached by Disney Magazine, they were interested in doing a write up on this Mouse Adventures and Mouse Planet.. wanted us to call them, but I respectfully turned over the story and information to Alex to handle...

i am kinda anxious to see how we actually did finish

We really enjoyed MA as always!

Congrats to GD and CP for an awesome job on their win!
I think we did better this MA then we did in the other 2 we have done.
But, it always seems to happen to us. We open our packet and it tells us to go by the Horseshoe. We then choose our quest and BAM!! Stupid picture into word things!! I dont know why, but I have never been good at them things. Turns out, neither was my wife so we had to give up on that one.

Somehow we came up with White Rabbit at first at the hub. But thank god we double checked before we left, as we were wrong the first time lol.

Congrats to all the winners!! And a great big thank you to all the staff that made yet another great MA!! Can't wait until next time!!

Glad you all had a good time. The funniest thing we saw all day was eventual winners the Happy Haunts double-timing it right past our location behind the corn dog cart...

Jen and I enjoyed working staff, as usual, but are considering playing next time (as MousePlanet staff, we wouldn't be eligible to win prizes but can still play for points).

It was really funny to actually find half of the staff. I am proud to report that we found each desk with ease. Except the NOS desk, but that's a drifferent story

I completely forgot to start a school chant for our USC friends, but most of our chants have been rated PG-13 or worse by the NCAA. Then again, given the winners we should have been singing "Grim Grinning Ghosts" instead. Congrats to our nemesis for making it to the top of the mountain... and a bigger congrats to the MP staff for FINALLY ridding the future teams of the Denton Affair! Time to fund the busts and place them somewhere in the MP home office.

DF, I thought you and Shmoopsiepoo showed some real team spirit and tenacity over in the Frontierland section (my department). You two really worked hard during that section and I know you will be the next-up-and-coming team to keep an eye out for.

Good job! And more pats on the back to everyone else who gave it their all on the Evil Paragraph.

My friends and I (Dorks, Inc.) had SUCH a blast today! We did so much better than last time we played at DCA, and managed to complete all of the quests with no penalties. That was a victory in itself for us. I am so proud of our teamwork and the great time we had together. I would say that the windows and the carousel were my favorite puzzles - they were so creative and so much fun to figure out. Thanks to all of the staff members for being so friendly and helpful. I think the highlight of my day was standing there in Tomorrowland with all three of my teammates facing me as we frantically tried to finish our last puzzle and then practically hyperventilating when I spotted Lani. "TURN AROUND TURN AROUND TURN AROUND TURN AROUND!!!" I said through clenched teeth. They all three whipped around and almost fell over each other rushing over there. Too funny!!

Now, will SOMEONE explain the one with the statues, numbers and colors?? We were insanely lost and basically guessed the right answer, but we are dying to have someone explain how it worked.

I made it it time to see the awards ceremony and was hoarse by the end from whowooing! My team, Fez-Bowl-Law, (playing without me) came in 3rd in Trivia, 2nd was TOYAC, and 1st was The Denton Affair (missing one team member). Nice to see all of my friends placing well - some for the first time. GD and CP (The Happy Haunts with very cool shirts) were first in the Mad Scramble part. I don't remember the order of the other two, but The Gauchoholics were 3rd I think, and the other team I wasn't familiar with, except I did recognize a familiar Stitch backpack and a hat named Theresa.

Congratulations to all! It was a blast hearing about the puzzles and challenges.

trying to remember here so I hope I don't miss much:

The key was you started at Chip N Dale (I hope I am remembering this right)... the 1st question asked a yes/no about Donald and Minnie I think... the answer was yes and you moved 3 statues clockwise. The next was a yes also I think so you went 1 more clockwise, the last was no and you went 1 counterclockwise (I hope I remember this right as I barely saw the paperwork ). Basically, you ended on Pinocchio and so you answered the question of how many of that character were found in the "bubbles" by the arcade.

Sure seems easy once it was done. Luckily the "playing" clue in the question helped us to the right window.

    Thumbs up

    Winning is FUN!!!

First and foremost, thank you, thank you, thank you to the entire MP staff! I think this is the most fun we've ever had at a Mouse Adventure, and I'm not just saying that because we won. Long before winners were announced, we talked to tons of people. EVERYONE (including us) had smiles on our faces and lots of laughs. We all talked about our favorite parts, which quests were the most fun. No talk of which gave us the most pain and annoyance. Awsome job guys!! (and a certain someone is completely exhonerated for slowing us down a little at the beginning )

Secondly, winning is FUN!!! Don't know where to begin. I could write a book about the day. I'll try to keep it short and to the point.

Biggest screw up for us: Right out of the gates. Our first stop was NOS. We took the pink quest, alphabatize the gods. Problem was, we failed to read the top of the paper and didn't notice the "/Adventure Land." We spent a good 10 minutes wandering NOS looking for gods! I can conclusively tell you that there are no gods in NOS. FINALLY, CP says, "Tiki Room is the only thing I can think of!" and THEN noticed the key info on the paper. We thought for SURE we shot ourselves in the foot with that one. It didn't help when we saw the Gauchos arriving at NOS for the SECOND stop while we were finighing our first.

Random bits of knowledge are good: CP knew where the bubbles were! I had NO idea. But she led us right to them. HUGE time saver.

Luckiest break: Long story here. Basically, we got the Red Rocket host wrong (we saw the giant Coke sign for the bevarage cart). Therefor we figured we had missed a Pinnochio or two and had the wrong question. We saw the "What does X cost?" question. It HAD to be a mess up (they planned to replace the X with a product, but forgot). But, we decided to double check the menu anyway. Thank GOD we did, because on the menu was the actual name of the hosting company. Phew!!

Best decission: We had completed all 8 quests and were holding the last one (in Fronteirland) in our hand. We had a decission. We needed one more item for Scavenger Hunt Bingo, a Space Mountian FP. Again, we were in Fronteirland. So we took a second and weighed our options. Turn in the paper and take the time as it was, or trek across the park for the FP. Well, at the speed we can power-walk, it would take us a little over 5 minutes to get there and back. The Scavanger hunt was worth a 15 minute bonus. That's almost 10 minutes in our favor. Decission made. So we motor our way across...and on the way CP spots Lani! Suddenly, our 5 or 6 mintue detour netted us a last second 25 minute bonus!! That's what sealed it.

Biggest risk: We had two FPs, Mansion and Space. We decided to risk them both. It was a gut decission. Basically, I was banking on Alex not being evil enough to choose as the joker FP one that was on the scavanger hunt sheet. I second guessed that decission all the way until we heard our team called. "The 6 minutes was not worth the risk of losing 15 minutes." But knowing the spread between 1st and 3rd, I'm REAL glad we did it.

So we heard the Gauchos' time of 1:15. Now, I knew what bonuses we got, and I knew what time we turned it in, so I knew our time was 1:04....IF we didn't get the Fastpass joker. Otherwise, our time would have been 1:25. So when we weren't second place, I though for sure we'd lost it. There was no way 1st was only 11 minutes faster than 3rd! So it was a total shock to hear our names. That was a TIGHT pack at the top. I can't wait to see the second place team's time to see if we really did need those 6 minutes that the 2 Fastpasses gave us.

For the record, we turned ours in at 1:37. We got 15 minutes for scavenger, 10 minutes for finding Lani, 2 minutes on Eyespy (we knew one of them by site, we didn't even waste time looking for any others), and 6 minutes for Fastpasses for a total of 33 minutes in bonus time.

Okay, that wasn't short. Sorry, but I'm still really excited about the whole experience. I had a great time. And I think it really made a difference that seemingly everyone did!

Thanks, Gauchograd99. I think we were on the right track with it, but it was the one and only time throughout the day that my team was having a communication breakdown, so we kept second guessing each other. If it hadn't been our very last puzzle I think we would have been able to just sit still for a second and breathe, and we would have seen the light. Again, the puzzles were sooooooooooooo fun and creative. Loved 'em.

I totally agree. It really added to the experience to see so many teams looking like they were having a wonderful time. It made it even more fun for us to see all those smiling faces.

LOL...well, I'll agree with you, with one little change...I remember distinctly seeing you two already starting your fourth, and final, set of quests in Frontierland when we were just leaving to go to our fourth stop, in Fantasyland. I knew you two had it then.

Overall, the best MA ever, and I'm not saying that because we finally won something (ok, it helps ). Seriously, none of the games were really awful for us, and I think we had one of our smoothest outings ever. Our official time was 1:32, the scavenger hunt took 15 minutes off our time, and we got one Eye Spy picture for another 2 minutes. That led to the 1:15. We didn't take a lot of risks on the bonus stuff, but I didn't regret it one bit. I've never felt this good about our efforts.

RE: the bubbles thing...Gauchograd99 is right, it was the clue that helped us. The final question specifically mentioned that the characters were "playing", and that immediately made me think "arcade". Finding the bubbles was actually the best moment for me.

The paragraph was evil, as usual, but a lot of fun. The way we did it was to count off the words in groups of 5 and mark them so that all I had to do was find the right reference number for each word...I think this saved us time instead of having to keep counting over and over again. What's really funny is the second part of that quest (the fruit salad), was equally difficult! It was the only quest we had a wrong answer on and had to go back and double check.

We got the right answer (the drum kit) for the balcony question at NOS, but what is a jingle bell? It was down to the two of them, and I figured if one was wrong, I'd just put the other in.

Congratulations to the "Masters": the Denton Affair! Looking forward to having you to keep us all on our toes next time (although, I must admit some relief over not having you as official competitors).

Also, congrats to Fez-Bowl-Law, The Happy Haunts, TOYAC (also first-time winners, but veteran competitors), and the 2nd place scavenger winners whose names I can't remember. It was a great day for the veteran teams.

Great turnout for the event! I loved all the inventive costumes and excited first-timers. See you all in October...

most definetly... i really liked seeing all the teams with smiles on their faces while competing, instead of teams in agony over some questions...

and GD, you mustve gotten us on something, that, or we finished really high, lol, becuase you guys were just turning your stuff in when we were about halfway done with the last puzzle, we just had to stop in Bazaar to get a reciept, then we were done, less than 20 minutes after you....we were on your heels the whole time LOL... good show man...
