Breakfast Option at 6am, etc?
I'm trying to find a breakfast option on a magic morning, when the park will open at 7am.
Does anything open at the hotels at 6am? What about room service, or is room service limited menu at that hour and it might not arrive in time anyway?
Just another final unrelated note, can you still use expired same-day fast passes at DL California? The fast passes in Paris are virtually useless with a 30 minute window and not a minute extra given. In california, I found I could use them hours late, still the case? Thanks!

If you are not staying on site, there is a Denny's on Harbor, Mimi's Cafe and McDonalds too.

I'd do room service if staying on property.... we find room service thou i don't like the extra they add such as 17% tip and some amount for delivery it's been always a good way to go.... look into the the snack shop in the Grand Californian Hotel not sure what time it opens..... great fast breakfast....

Happiness is that smile
What I strongly suggest is to go to the bakery the day before and grab some muffins and milk and maybe a piece of fruit, then make a pot of coffee in the room and you can munch while getting ready. I don't know what time the White Water Snacks opens but if you're not on property you have to deal with bag check twice which is really a pain if you're wanting to be in line on time. If you're over on Harbor I would say send someone (this is assuming there are more than one in your party) down to the McDonalds for something you can eat on the go or in line over at the park.
As for the fastpasses, they were still honoring them on our last visit and I haven't heard anything about that changing and believe me if they had someone would have posted it on one of the message boards and it would have been big big news here in California!

When we were there in May we ordered groceries from Vons, they'll deliver to your hotel room. We got cereal and milk, bagels and cream cheese, etc. and then snacked in the morning while we got ready. Just check what the refrigerator situation at your hotel is.
Yes, FP may still be used past the time window in CA. Thank goodness.

I second MammaSilva's advice. We packed ziplock bags of cereal, bananas, etc that we could munch on in line or as we were getting ready. Just an FYI, they opened the bag check line at 6:45 (there was already a line for bag check at 6:30) and we were able to be first in line at the gate.
Also, you can use fastpasses any time after the earliest time printed on them.

Thanks for reconfirming fast pass.
Yes, I am staying on site. We do like a bit of a full breakfast for some reason, but we might have to compromise on magic morning I suppose. I'll check on room service, what time they have the full menu, but if they won't take an order for full menu until 6am, it might be cutting it, if you'd get the food in time.
I suppose we could always hike to the car and go to a take out place too.
Thanks again. This gives me some solid options. The Vons delivery idea the day before is great too!

Another option on an early morning is to have something light, like suggested, and then around 10 have a full-blown breakfast in the park.

This is kind of what we do with Von's groceries. We get light breakfast food (granola bars, cereal, etc) and then schedule one of the last seatings for breakfast in the park (usually at Carnation). By the end of a crazy Magic Morning it's nice to sit down and take a break. Plus, even full breakfast at 6:00 am might not last you till lunch. Other things on our Von's list are goldfish crackers, wheat thins and water bottles for snacks during the day.

Here is info on Room Service:
Disneyland Hotel (from 5 am)

Grand Californian (from 6am)

Paradise Pier Hotel

But I think the idea of having Vons deliver food for light breakfast, and then eating a full breakfast later is a good idea.

Double thumbs up for you both! Same thing I was going to suggest.

I also noticed the pancakes are on the middle of the night menu, so that is good to know.
