...Disney Vacation Club opened sales for its first DVC Resort in Hawaii last week. Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas, Ko Olina, Hawaii, is scheduled to open its first phase in fall 2011, making it the 11th DVC property in the United States. The DVC sales center at the Disneyland Resort has been remodeled to match the decor of the proposed new Villas, and DVC and D23 members were invited to a series of receptions and presentations last week to learn about the new property.

We toured the rooms on Friday as part of the Hawaii event and as of Friday they were still themed to California. While the "view" would be easy to change overnight I'm assuming some of the fixtures will also be Hawaii themed and those may require down time to change over. I'm not saying it hasn't happened that they remodeled the decor to match the sales pitch, but with as many people as we saw touring the rooms on Friday, unless they were able to do it overnight during the 4th of July weekend my best guess is that it is still themed to California. (Or perhaps the fixtures were already themed to Hawaii but they hadn't changed the view and I just didn't notice. I did have both my little kids and they tend to be the focus of my attention. I do distinctly recall mocking their impossible view so I know that was still California).

I like the idea behind designing your own baseball cap - but I really wish they'd have an option besides black. I wear caps in the summer in my convertible to control my hair, and when doing yardwork to protect my head, and black is NOT a good choice for those uses!
