    Pirates & Pals Fireworks Cruise

Sorry...but I can never seach threads correctly. Has anyone done the Pirates & Pals Fireworks Cruise? What did you think? I booked it for me and Dad. Hoping we get a good view of fireworks and a nice cruise. The character interaction isn't that important!!! Even though I heard Peter Pan makes an appearance.

Actually, at the moment, it is the only place to see Captain Hook in all of the parks.

Is in the Tulgey Woods, spending the golden afternoon.

I've done the cruise and I think it's done well. The "dessert" and character interaction with Captain Hook and Mr. Smee before the cruise is a good photo op. The food is nothing special but since it's included in the price it's not bad.

The actual cruise is pleasant. We had a pirate host who joined us and worked as the MC until we arrived at our anchor point in the Seven Seas Lagoon. He lead us in singing "A Pirates Life for Me" and then mocked all of us for not knowing the song past the first verse. He also did trivia contests and handed out swag like plastic swords and eyepatches to the guests --mostly kids-- who answered the questions correctly. Everyone on our cruise (about 60 or so guests) were part of a Magic Gathering, so it was several large parties and some of the adults had a little too much "Pirates Punch" and got a little rowdy. It might have been very interesting and a little more fun if children were not present. Kind of like the blue Jungle Cruise tours that sometimes happen just before the park closes.

The actual fireworks viewing was OK. It's a different perspective for the show but I wouldn't say it's better than seeing the fireworks from inside the Magic Kingdom or from Califonia Grill. But I think it's always fun to be on the water at night and you don't have to fight the crowds heading for the exits or elevators.

At the end of the night Peter Pan is waiting for you on the dock back at the Contemporary. He'll pose for pictures and sign autographs until everyone is satisfied.

Everyone in the party also received an exclusive Disney pin that you can only get from the cruise. That's another plus for pin collectors or anyone looking to offset the cost via eBay.

When Wishes is at 10pm, the meeting time is 8:30-8:45 at the Contemporary. That gives you time before the cruise to meet the characters and snack a little. I changed my mind though, and cancelled. The Wishes Dessert Party became available so I opted for that instead!
