Just got sprinkled with that magic pixie dust [PIN code discount]

I have never received one of those surprise e-mails with those special discount codes before, but about a month ago I did. The offer was not valid during the time we would be able to be at WDW so I didn't give it much thought. So after it sat and sat in my "inbox" for about a month, I thought well I could just call and see if they would let me use it when we would be able to be there.

Long story short, I got the pin code by mistake. It was my name and e-mail, but not my correct mailing address. The CM talked to her supervisor and they got the code to work for me and they let me use it on the dates I wanted! I am so excited! The pin code was for the free Quick Service dining plan, but my family really enjoys those sit-down meals so I upraded the plan so we could get a TS each day! For $172 we will have all our "meals" paid for! Sweet! Can't wait!

I just received in the mail a letter from Disney saying 20% off Value Resorts for select days. It then proceded to post dates of possible savings through December. It then said "be sure to ask about great rates for other Resorts and travel dates." Does this mean if I call in, they are possible offering some sort of discount on moderate and deluxe resorts? Anyone have any thoughts? Should we book a value now with the discount (even though we would prefer a moderate) or should we wait to see if another discount comes or what? I'm only sixteen so I'm a little new at this whole trip planning thing. Thanks for the help!

Hi Musical,
Yes, definitely have your parents/guardians call and ask what's available for a Moderate using the pin code. Chances are very good that there will be a discount. Just tell them what dates and resorts you want, and give them the pin. Is the letter in your name or for an adult in your house?

It's in my mom's name. I'm just the one in charge of "making the magic happen." That brings up another problem, my mom wouldn't be going on the trip, it would just be me and my dad. Is that alright?

Oooh, no! The person on the pin offer must be on the list of guests going on the trip. Sorry! They are VERY strict on that point.

I'm finding these pin numbers very confusing! I called Disney a few weeks ago and asked if I could use the pin code sent to my husband and they said yes. It was good for anyone in the family. I got one by email a week or two later.

When I had my travel agent try to use it, he couldn't get the 40% off code to work. I would think the discount would be off the rack rate, but my TA said maybe it's a sneaky promo and it means just 40% off the regular season rate. My TA is not a Disney expert, by I think I am!!! And this seems wrong to me!

My pin code for 40% off was for dates this year at the slow/value time's only. Wish I could use it but I doubt I can get back by years end. Im still hopeful for end of January but I also found out after my surgery next week my power walking exercising could be a no no for many months so now I even wonder about a end of January visit. So Im hopeful for another code or even a advertisement discount although Im not holding my breath on that one.

Got home from our last trip May 18th. However, since I have an addiction and I got the pin code for 40% off, I booked a December trip! Split stay between POP and French Quarter for a total of 8 nights!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They had to make three separate reservations (one for POP, one for FQ and one for the two nights at the regular rate). But I did it!

Since I received that first pin code by mistake, I have received three more
e-mails with pin codes. We won't be able to use them, but I am wondering if they are really meant for me or are they all "mistakes."

My family (myself,wife & daughter) have been to WDW before but never while decorated for Xmas. We kept putting off booking a trip until we got our 40% promo code. The wife said " If you can come up with the money we'll go". Well, I found a few Eskimos that needed ice and we just booked our trip. We will be there Nov 28th - Dec. 5th. I can't wait to get started on booking the dinner reservations and extras.
