    DCA Segway Tour

Has anyone done the Cruzin' tour at DCA? It looks like a blast, but I was wondering exactly what you do? Is it even running right now? There would be a lot of off-roading opportunities!

Probably wouldn't actually do it till some of the construction clears up, but wanted some opinions on it. AVP wrote an article on it in 2007, she seemed to think it was worth it. Other thoughts?

    Thanks!

My husband did this 2 years ago, he loved it. You meet near Muppets 3d and they teach you how to ride the Segway, and then you ride it all over the park, stopping a couple of times for photo's, etc. I think it was a 2 hour tour and you had to be there, early, like 7:30 in the morning....you get a free 5x7 group picture, and a very cool pin.

My husband and I did last July. Even with the walls up we had a blast! It was only he and I for the tour. Our CM's were wonderful, friendly and funny. It was my second time doing it and his first. If you have an AP or Disney Visa you get 20% off the price.
I liked being able to get into the Esplnade early and take pictures and cruzin around DCA before it opens is pretty fun too.

    Have a Disney Day!

My wife and I did this tour back in October and we both loved it. There was still quite a bit of construction going on but it didn't really matter. This tour is really about riding the segways more than anything else and they are a lot of fun. Our tour guides did stop a few times to give us some park history or talk about future attractions but for the most part they would just point out funs spots to test our segway skills and let us play! I would recommend this tour if you are interested in riding segways around DCA but if you are looking for more of an informational tour of DCA you might be disappointed with this one.

My sister and I did this with our Mom on Labor Day weekend and I agree with MikenTra -- the appeal of it is to get to ride the Segways around an empty park, not for any DCA info you may pick up. I hadn't heard that they were going to be covering those gorgeous murals at the front up before, though - so I did take a whole bunch of pictures of those that day, so that IS some real information I learned on the tour.

Our Mom was a bit nervous about it (my sister and I had both been on them before) - but once she got on one and going, she was a pro.
