Just wondering if it's customary to tip the WDW bus drivers (the ones who take you from your on-property hotel to the parks)? If so, how much per trip?

No countdown for now, but aiming for February 2013!
No, not at all. Disney Cast Members in general (except for hotel bell services, housekeeping, bartenders and restaurant servers) are not tipped positions.

However, DME does "accept" tips. I've only seen a few people actually tip them (I'm one of them, however).

Indeed, I always tip the DME drivers . . . but I dont' believe the in park ones are allowed to accept, are they?
Thanks for your input, everyone! I was thinking I'd tip the housekeepers $5 a day, which made me think of the bus drivers... Doesn't sound as if it's necessary to tip the drivers, though. (Woo-hoo! Only two weeks to go...)

We had dinner at AKL (Boma) on Christmas Day. We were the only family that got on the bus for Animal Kingdom from Pop Century. We verified with our driver that taking a bus to AK and then taking another one to AKL was the best way to go...he actually dropped us right off at AKL.
I tried to tip him, but he said that he wasn't allowed to take tips. I said, "Really?" and tried to hand him a tip. He said, "No, I can't, but I am responsible for cleaning the bus." So I dropped the tip, and said, "Oh sorry. I think I dropped something," and walked away.
We thought his above and beyond service was worth a tip.
See what my son made for me?
If you get a bus driver that declines a tip then offer three times and they will take the tip. It is Disney policy that CMs do not take gifts and tips from guests except maids, doormen, waiters, valets, and hairdressers for example. The three refusals is because the 4th would be rude to the guest, lol.
What? That's the running joke about Minnesotans. You have to offer something three times before they take it.
I wouldn't want to get a CM into trouble, but I love Mrs. Grumpy's idea!

We tried tipping a bus driver a few years ago when I was with my dance troupe. It was just after Wishes and the All Star Movies bus line was crazy. So I said let's jump on the All Star Music bus (no one on that line at all!) and walk over. We had about 18 people that we were walking around with and just happen to run into another 10 from the troupe so they followed. We all got on the bus.
When we got to All Star Music we all groaned about the walk but we all stood up and started to make our way off the bus. My dad turned the bus driver and said "too bad you weren't going to All Star Movies!" So the driver goes over the loudspeaker and says "Anyone going to All Star Movies have a seat." Practically the whole bus ( I guess other people followed our lead) sat back down.
We tried offering him a tip but he kept declining. He said his tip would be not telling any managers because he didn't want to get in trouble. Real nice guy!
