    The Blind Side

So, I finally saw The Blind Side.
I have been hesitating fearing that it would be like fingernails on a chalkboard.

I have been curious since it is about some hometown folks.
For some strange reason it was filmed elsewhere, (but it still came out remarkably Memphisy.)
And Sandra Bullock's accent in the previews was somewhat annoying, but it either was a bit more mellow in most of the film or I stopped hearing it...not sure...

But, and that is a big BUT, I really liked it.
It is a nice sweet story.
And the film makers somehow got a lot of things right.
I actually heard things I have said repeatedly come right out of Sandra Bullock's mouth, which was unique and funny.

    Anyone else see it?
If so, what did you think?

There were a few posts early on (first two pages) of "Last Movie Seen".

My main thought, that has stuck with me for a while, was that they didn't full capture the 'rabidness' that is SEC fandom, but they did make an attempt. I don't know if they could really capture it, though, without making it a caricature.

Sandra Bullock has bought a house here in town (and they did the premier as a fundraiser for a school she's adopted), so maybe some of you saw as 'not terribly inaccurate' were because she's taken the time to really learn about the area and things that make each sub-area unique (i.e., New Orleans vs Memphis vs Montgomery)? Just a thought.

    That is interesting Drince.

I can understand celebrities wanting to have a house in New Orleans.

I loved the comments about UT.

I'll check out that other thread.

I saw it three times and loved it! I also read the book before seeing the movie, and the book, of course, adds more about the family and the details of how they came to know Michael and take him in. The movie condensed a lot and left things out, but what was there was true to the book, even a lot of the dialogue.

Just watched it tonight. Great movie. I really loved the dialogue and how they are as a family. I even thought there were a lot of funny parts.
