MouseAdventure Holiday: Reindeer Games ~ Recap

We made it home through the rain and fog. It was an awesome but very, very wet day. I'll make a full report later!

Our team, "It's All About ME! And Frank," had a lot of fun today. We got a lot of quests completed (hopefully correctly) but were terrible at Eye Spys. And usually it's the other way around for us. And we think the holiday parade getting cancelled because of the rain worked to our favor cuz we got more time to figure out the later quests and the bonus quests we earned. We took the rain in stride and it never bummed us out. It did play havoc with our quest sheets and writing notes on wet paper, lol. Thank you, MA Staff, for another great time!

MouseAdventure Holiday: Reindeer Games ~ Recap

We just got home from today's event. I would of never though it can rain so much in one day at Disneyland.

Props to all the staff and all the players putting up with the rain. For our team we did okay, it was hard cause most of our paper were so wet. We even tried to protect it, but it still got wet.

We were not able to answer all the quest. Did anyone figure out the hidden quest?

What did you think about this event? Thoughts?

We did terribly, much worse than usual. I think it was because we were too busy dealing with umbrellas and ponchos and had a hard, nearly impossible, time trying to solve and write while walking. At some point we were just done with the wet and cold. So sad to give up early.

I think we found the hidden quest. We looked at the names of the reindeer at the top of all the non-bonus quests. One reindeer was missing, I think it was Comet. So we wrote that as our hidden quest answer.

What was the question (and answer) to the Main Street quest? We got most of the names of things on Main Street but ran out of time to solve the word search completely.

Thanks to all the staff for your sweet, cheerful attitudes and willingness to make it fun for everyone!

We are home, dry, and exhausted. The weather was challenging, but I was surprised that I didn't get cold. My team had a good attitude despite all the rain.

Thank you MA staff for a very fun event! The quests were clever as usual. I especially enjoyed our teamwork solving the Main Street Word Search, the NOS decorations quest, the garland puzzle in Critter Country, and the ToonTown Bonus quest. It was also nice to get out of the rain during the IASW puzzle.

I was excited to find some of the "difficult" eyespys at the end of the day (the hat and the birdcage on Main Street). Where was the Godzilla doll eating Tinker Bell and the mistletoe with the chandelier in the background?

Does anyone think they got the hidden quest? We thought the answer could be Dasher. Anyone else get that?

We were bummed we couldn't do the parade quest since it was cancelled. I haven't seen that one in years! We gave it a guess anyway.

Thanks again for a great day!

I am absolutely exhausted . . . but in a good way! I LOVED the quests today! No scrambled words!!! THANK YOU!!!! We didn't miss the parade either. The rain was not great but I think it was better than the sweltering heat we've had in the past. Plus, it kept the crowds away! THANK YOU SO MUCH MA STAFF FOR HAVING THIS "EXTRA" MA FOR US!!! I so appreciate all you do! I also appreciate having staff in areas where we were so that we could get some clarifications without having to walk so far.

Here's what we got for some of our answers--did everybody else get this, too??

    Critter Country - rabbit
    Haunted Mansion - 6
Tiki Room - 8 (I really liked this quest)
Main Street - Christmas 1913 (I think, don't have the paperwork with me)
    New Orleans - 3 (frogs)
Logic - hmm, not sure what I wrote--I think Mickey and Goofy??

We didn't make it to Tomorrowland, Small World or Toontown. Didn't get the last batch of eye spies either. We only got about 4 or 5 of the eye spies this time.

I think we had comet as one of the quest. Our answer was Donner cause we thought it was spelled incorrectly.

    I'm not too sure.

    Anyone else?

  9. #8

We guessed Donner as the hidden quest, cause we thought it was spelled incorrectly.

    I'm not sure.

Btw, I was also happy to just turn in our answers and be done. Sometimes we are just too tired (and in this case, too wet) to have to walk all the way back to the ballroom.

Peter's Pans definitely struggled more with this MA than any other recent one. Blame the rain, the missing teammate, or the "bundt" in the oven, but we really had a hard time. We thought of the missing reindeer and went through the song a bunch of times (while peeling papers off of each other!) and found them all. We saw that the colors of the bonus quests were blue, yellow, green, and red and that the reindeer names were all in grey. The ornaments on each page had green, red, and yellow in them and the one on the Errata page was in grey. Since there was no blue on any ornaments, we went with that. But we have yet to get a hidden quest right and this was yet another (probably incorrect) shot in the dark.

For the Main Street one, the question was something to the effect of when was the letter from Harry Houdini to his brother written (Christmas 1913).

What did you guys get for the Haunted Mansion one? We had to ride it twice as it was and weren't sure exactly what was meant by "people pictured in the stretching room in August." We decided to go with 7 (the girl over the crocodile, the guy on the dynamite, the three guys in the quicksand, the old lady on the tombstone, and George--the face on the tombstone), but weren't sure if we would have to rely on memory like that rather than something we could find in front of us.

Thanks as always to the staff, especially having just done Epcot and today having to deal with the rain. You guys never cease to amaze me!

Now that I'm dry, I am going to go snuggle up under my warm covers. To all a good night!

Thanks for finding me at le petite

I was so glad to be able to see some of the teams going by Le Petite and some of you actually came and said HI! I think you should have gotten bonus points for finding me, but alas I do not make the rules. I was bundled up nice and warm so did not suffer from the weather. Thanks for the well wishes for Tracy--he is still coughing quite a bit, but seems to be feeling better. We NEVER want to miss another MA--it was sad being on the outside looking in.....

Hope you all had a good time!

Full recap later, but these are the answers we got:

Tomorrowland: Roseppuri (sic) <--this was hard, especially 'cause we thought some of the plants had grown since the picture had been taken
Adventureland: 9 (4 menehune? on the back of the Tiki Room + 5 Tiki Juice Bar items)
Critter Country Garland: Brer Bear and Brer Fox
    Fantasyland: Sylvania
New Orleans Square: 6 people (all the people in the stretching room in August...didn't count George 'cause didn't think that his grave/bust would be considered a person)

    Didn't do:
Main Street (because our highlighter kept being washed away by the rain)
    Parade (obvious reasons, sadness)
NOS decorations (whoa this was a crazy one)
Toontown (the rain made our paper so wet we couldn't write anything anymore)
The Gift Mix-Up (what a "Mickey Mouse Watch" looked like really messed us up)

Eye Spies were kinda hard and we had a tough time deciding what was specific but not too specific. So we came up with descriptions like "above poster outside the Golden Horseshoe" or "above queue at Mad Hatter's Tea Party."

Hidden Quest we didn't find. We thought it might have something to do with the names of the reindeer but by then we were just so run ragged by the rain, we were like, "Eh we're done."

Thanks to everyone who helped put on this crazy event. And just for fun, Yes, I was that girl who kept dropping her papers onto the wet ground. 'Cause I'm awesome.

We came up with answers for all the quests...

Tomorrowland: Not sure what we got, as a teammate took care of the answer for this one.
Adventureland: 8 (Were there really 4 menehune?)
Critter Country Garland: Brer Bear and Brer Fox
    Fantasyland: Sylvania
    New Orleans Square: 6
    Main Street: Christmas 1913
    Parade: Russia (a guess)
    NOS decorations: 3
    Toontown: $5.27
The Gift Mix-Up: Not sure of our final answer...someone else wrote this in.

Hidden quest: We also counted all the reindeer on the pages and saw they were all there. I noticed the six "dashes" on our ID tags. Dasher has six letters in his name, so that's the answer we chose.

    Adventureland Quest

A couple of you answered Brer Bear and Brer Fox and I'm trying to figure out how you got that. We rode twice and couldnt find any presents.

Then just after Brer Rabbits home scene there was picture on the left wall. My glasses were spotted and I was cold and wetter (because I was wet all day) so I'm not sure if that picture was the clue. We saw Mickey holding something with a yellow bow and so Mickey was our answer.

I'd love some explanation on this one.

There's a large gift tag hanging in a display above the entrance to Splash Mountain. It says "To: Brer Bear and Brer Fox, From: Brer Rabbit".

We gave up early, too. At around 3:30...too wet and cold, plus my husband's Christmas party for work was that night.
    We completed:
Haunted Mansion: 6 (We confirmed with the artwork at the Disney Gallery)
Tiki Room: 8 (counted 5 menu items and 3 Menehune)
    IASW: Sylvania
    Main Street: Christmas 1913
Gift Exchange Bonus & Tomorrowland: Can't remember our answers and too lazy to go downstairs and look

With the rain, we didn't even do any of the eye spys.

What an awesome day. We were actually hoping for rain because we felt so prepared. We brought ponchos and umbrellas and didn't use either of them. The write in the rain paper we had was HUGE! That stuff was truly amazing as the paper didn't bleed or tear and the pens wrote perfectly. Thanks to the Jester on our team for getting that for Epcot. Although we didn't have to use it in Epcot, it was invaluable at Rain Gear Games. We put all of our quests in sheet protectors and other than the word search, they stayed in their all day. The regular tablets of paper we had brought stayed in the backpack and got ruined!

We had quite a bit of difficulty with the Christmas Fantasy quest since none of us had seen the parade. We tried to crack it without and used all 3 of our hints to get there, but still didn't get it. The plant one was a toss up and we'll see. I was annoyed not to find the hidden quest after knowing I was on to it by getting the reindeer names in order. As always, we had a poor showing on the eyespy and had to guess at a LOT of the trivia. We felt good about the others, so we are excited to see the correct answers.

Thanks so much for another incredible game and I hope to be able to make the game in the spring! As long as its not on 3/21, 3/28, or 4/25, then we should be good. Although, those seem like prime possibilities...

Having the waterproof paper and pens must have been nice. Using your hints to work the Christmas Fantasy quest was a great idea!

We don't do very well at trivia either, but I think we got at least four of they eyespys in each section. We nailed quite a few of them in the last hour of the game.

This was our first Mouseadventure and we had no idea what we were going into. When we were told not to assume anything, they were correct. It took us some time to figure out the first quest but once we did, we were excited! The rain did hinder us which was a little disappointing. We were fully prepared but I slipped once at the very beginning and landed on my knee pretty hard and again while we were heading in to turn in our answers. I fell on the same knee and my teammate practically carried me. We were determined to turn in our answers! I lost count on how many times I got hit in the face with umbrellas and while we were in New Orleans Square solving a quest, a little girl (who was not watching where she was going) ran smack into my clipboard and me. By the end we were truly spent. We did enjoy the games but we could have done with out the rain and injuries. We did learn a lot and picked up on some clever ideas from other players. We would definitely play again, just not in the rain!

Look in the Jewel of Orleans Store!!
We couldn't find the stupid face in front of the bricks. We knew where it was to start and it wasn't where we thought it bugged us all day. Can someone help us there??

Critter Country - rabbit (got this wrong--should have used a hint as I had my doubts)

We figured out the hidden quest after the whole game was over. If you put the reindeer in order, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, Rudolph, and you took the first word from each of them the question you got was: What time is the last Christmas Fantasy parade? Or something like that. If only we would have gotten it while we were still doing the quest. haha

We had a blast like always!! It was definitely hard in the rain when you paper became all wet and your pens began to bleed through. But we feel we did actually quite well compared to other games.

The answers we have for the quests:
Deck the Halls (New orleans): 3 Frogs
    Mrs. Claus's Garden (Tomorrowland): Inkivaari
    Mele Kalikimaka (Tiki Room): 8
(there were only 3 dwarfs hanging on the building)
Not a Critter was Stirring (Critter Country): Brer Bear and Brer Fox
A Very Scary Christmas (Haunted mansion): 6
(a Bust is not a "people" we thouhgt)
Joy to the Small World: Sylvania
The 12 Lists of Main Street: Christmas 1913
    Christmas Wrapping: Goofy; Mickey
Prep & Landing (Toontown): I think we might of got $5.27 but I'm not sure don't have that paper in front of me.
