a few questions
1- about how crowded will the parks be on Sunday and for a few hours Monday morning, the 13-14?
2- Has anyone ever gone and shared a dessert at Blue Bayou and not been charged the 12 fee? DH and I are going at 8:20 Sunday and were thinking of each getting a drink and sharing a dessert... I was going to get the PB&J sandwich off the kids menu just to try it but was told prolly not allowed...
3- What time does the DTD parking open for the free 3 hours? were wanting to go for a few hours, about 3, and wanted to park there if we could...
Thanks!!!!!

Here are my thoughts:
1. Sunday will be very crowded--locals taking in the holiday decor--Monday--not so much because schools aren't out yet.
2--not personally but I don't believe they would charge a split fee for dessert--especially if you both order drinks.
3-- I believe the DTD parking is open all the time and when it is open you can get the three free hours. Also, if you eat at a sit-down restaurant in DTD you get an additional two hours--for a total of 5.
Hope that helps!

The Blue Bayou wouldnt let me order off the kids menu and I had Gastric Bypass surgery.

The last time I was at Blue Bayou they said they would give the person a plate free and that the split plate is for meals where each person gets full sized sides and half the entree.
DTD parking is 3 hours and 5 hours if you get validation from a restaurant in DTD. The attendants leave at 10 pm or later depending on crowds and bosses. Recently I was validated by the lady at the elephant podium at Rainforest Cafe.
If you are parking on a Sunday night you might hit a crowd.

I second Hojo's! Walls are a bit thin but we have had great stays there!
Have a Disney Day!
You don't have to walk on water, it's how you walk on land.

It would never occur to me to get a validation I wasn't entitled to. It goes against my pagan beliefs.
Crazy, I know. I also give return the money if a cashier gives me too much money back or the dealer pays me when he/she shouldn't have when playing blackjack.

She saw me walk up and since when does Rainforest Cafe have to pay for the validation, did I miss something? I did not "Make" them do anything.

The validation is not "free." The restaurant has to pay the center/mall/DTD for the validation of its customers. That is why they require a purchase from that store/restaurant to get the validation.
ETA: it is possible that the restaurant may negotiate "free" validation in their lease, but generally they pay for it in some manner--i.e., higher rent, additional common area charges etc. But ultimately it is not "free" to the restaurant so to accept it when you weren't entitled to it is IMO wrong. Like I said before, it would never even occur to me to ask and I don't think I would accept it if it were offered.

Generally, there is a charge to the location (they have to stamp the ticket for a reason.) The tickets are collected and the stores are generally charged a lower rate for allowing their customers to use the lot.
I have used Rainforest before for validation, and when I had forgotten to get it validated prior to leaving, they requested copies of my bill, etc... before doing it. I am surprised the Elephant person did it without question.

1. I did not know that it cost the restaurant to validate.
2. I was running late because of the monorail being down for an hour while they switched train.
3. If they had asked I would have bought something.
4. It was freely offered with no questions asked so how was I to assume it was wrong.

It wasn't freely offered. They weren't standing in the middle of the road offering to validate tickets for people who merely walked by. A person has to walk up to the stand and ask for it.

Well, now you know. But I assume that you also knew the policy was that you had to have a sit-down meal at one of the DTD restaurants to get the validation. And if you were running late because of the Monorail, that wasn't Rainforest's problem.

Thanks! I love it too. I have a weird love of that commercial. And it always makes me smile when the little sister says her line!

My son was 12 and his friend was 11 and they would not let them order off the kid's menu. We had them look at the regular menu but neither one like anything on it.

We had a slightly different experience. My younger daughter doesn't have a very "advanced" palate. She didn't like anything on the regular menu, but she was allowed to order an adult sized version of the children's item at Cafe Orleans. The price was very reasonable.

Ummm, you can get the PB&J in your local grocery store. You can find it in the freezer section.

Counter service would be the only on site places at that price. Other folks would know about Mimi's, Ihop, and other places off site.
Tomorrowland Terrace would be one place.
