January 3rd saw the return of AP admission and the last day before the big DLR closings. I have not seen such rude people. People would not stay to the right, cut in line in the bathroom, the Small World line was heading so far west that north/south traffic could not pass, and bad parenting to name some problems. Main Street was packed during the parade and there was a line to get into the Tiki Room. I asked a group of 8 people to move and they just stood there blocking over half of the adventureland walkways. Long lines too.
There were lots of people working toward making things better like staying right when walking and following the person in front instead of pushing forward into crowds. Lots of good but too much pain.
Them block out dates really affect things yesterday.

Best time during summer?
Im trying to plan a short getaway of about 3 days during the summer. I am pretty open to any time between June and the beginning of August. So my question is when do you think it would be the best time crowd wise. I know it will be busy because its summer but I am hoping to go at the least busy busy time. If that makes sense!
Any suggestions?

We will be down there this time also. Just saw this from today's DLR update.
The holiday season has officially ended at the Disneyland Resort, but the crowds aren't quite ready to leave. Many local school districts are closed for one more week, which means school-break crowds through January 10th. The BCS National Championship Game will be held January 7th at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, which will mean even more visitors to the Resort as visiting football fans look for something to do in the days before the game. The International Music Products Association (NAMM) convention is in town January 8-19, bringing an estimated 89,000 attendees (plus their families) to the Anaheim Resort for one of the largest conventions of the year.

Weekdays in the earliest in June you can go. By mid/late June summer crowds will be in full swing, but early June should still be pleasant.

If you can avoid weekends, it should certainly help.

...also looking at the first week in March. Anyone have experience with that time?
We normally go in the fall off-season, but are hoping for a late-winter/early-spring trip this year. Want to go before all the spring break craziness.

I went the first week of last March. The longest lines were the lines to actually purchase tickets. This was a spur of the moment trip and I didn't have a ticket. I waited in line for more than an hour to buy a ticket.
Once inside the parks the crowds were not that bad at all.

These are my dates too and would love to know if anyone has any thoughts.

I would think both weeks would be slow but wasn't sure of any events or local holidays. Thoughts?
thanks

Found the answer earlier in the thread, nevermind

How busy can it be
Any thoughts on how busy DLR will be during the weekend of Feb 19th?

January 21-23rd?
I am thinking it will be fairly light and be busy on the 23rd? We'll only be spending the morning at the park on the 23rd.

You must have to know how to plan around it. I went that same day from 8am-11:30ish and it was great the first 2-3 hours. We rode Peter Pan, Dumbo, Alice, Teacups, and Small World all before 8:45 AND it was a Magic Morning! We also managed to get on HMH, Soarin TWICE, Toy Story, Monsters, and have lunch. All before 11:30 on what was one of the most crowded days of the year. But it was Sunday, and people sleep in, go to church, etc, so we took advantage of the first 2 hours and it paid off.

I was prepare for the trip but you cannot plan around rude people. I have been in the parks on packed days and not had such problems.

I can't seem to find the answer anymore (and I know it's been answered before), but how busy is it Feb 7 through Feb 13 2010? The reason being is I'm partially disabled and if the park is going to be busy I will need to rent a wheelchair just to sit while I'm in line for a show/ride etc.

I am jealous. Our favorite time to go is between the middle of Jan to the end of Feb. Low on crowds for sure. Disney opens late and closes early but you can get on every ride in a day easily if you are there midweek.
Anyone have thoughts on the Tues, Wed and Thursday after Memorial Day in May? Looks like a lot of schools are still in session

MLK weekend or Pres. Day weekend?
Which one do you think will be least crowded? I'm kind of leaning towards Pres. Day weekend because I can tack on an extra day during the week.
Thanks!

I hate to ask 'cause I'm afraid of the answer, but here goes...the only dates we could make it to DL this year would be March 17th to March 23rd. Crazy busy? Or just busy? Or insane and figure out a time after November to go???

It's a toss up... MLK is overlapped with the NAMM convention - BIG crowds all weekend.
Presidents weekends are overlapped with Rodeo Week for Arizona schools (2/20-2/28) and cheer competitions (2/13-2/15), it makes for crazy insane crowds at that time too.
If I had to choose though, I'd choose February, at least the rides will be back open after the holiday overlay removal. HM and SW are high capacity rides and swallow up a lot of people when they are open, thus relieving crowds on the other rides a little.

I know it is quite awhile from now, but does anyone have any idea on how busy the week of Veteran's day is? (Nov. 11-16)
Thanks

Go on Jan 12 or 13! ! !
My daughter and I went on Monday, Jan 11. Despite perfect weather (75 degrees) there were the smallest crowds I've ever experienced. We were at DCA till the 6p.m. closing, then spent almost 2 hours in Disneyland.
So if you can, go tomorrow (January 12th) or Wednesday (13th) for crowds that will also probably be small.

So we were planning a trip over the weekend and I had some time so I did some analysis.
I went on line and chose 4 hotels. I then started checking room rates for 3 months starting in the middle of January. I then averaged the cheapest available room rate for each one for a week from Sunday - Saturday.
I then made a graph. You can see the AZ spring break and then a gap and then CA spring breaks, esspecially with the HoJos rates. They are all booked up for both spring breaks.
Take it for what it's worth. Use the link below to view it.

I planned a vacation about a month ago and spaced Memorial Day. I was wondering if anyone knew how busy Disneyland gets the week before Memorial Day weekend and on the weekend itself.
Thanks for any advice!

In years past AZ schools got out before Memorial day. This year they end with a half day on that Friday before Memorial day. Most CA schools go till mid June. I would think you will miss most of the after school rush. You may have an early closing on one of those days due to Grad Night
