Does Cinco de Mayo bring a lot of crowds to the park? I'll be there the day after (Sunday) and I'm hoping it won't be that bad.

After years of going in October, I'm looking at a trip in August due to a new job starting in the fall. I am planning on a Wed to Sun trip during one of the first two weeks of August, while APs are blocked out. I will of course plan to take advantage of Fastpass, early entry, early morning/late night hours. I may even consider doing a Tues-Sat trip instead.
How bad do you all think crowds will really be?
With the schedule you have planned and used in the past you should be able to avoid the crowds 360 days of the year. However, if you were a fastpass hoarder like myself, there will be changes to how evenings are spent. Rumor has the fastpass windows being enforced sometime late spring /early summer. The only problem will be DCA as crowds mill around Carsland. I was talking to some frequent Disneyland visitors this week who are planning summer trips. They have no idea about Carsland, which means a lot of unplanned walking around by lost people, that could very well creat long waits in DCA.
Planning a week in DL this summer-any time from beginning of July to mid-August that would be better than others. I'm a big DL fan, know how to utilize FP, and had a successful July trip before, so I have some idea what we are looking at. Of course, Carsland throwing me for a loop. Thoughts?
I just finished booking a trip to Southern CA with three days at the park. We will be there Sunday-Tuesday May 13-15. I looked and there are no grad nights these dates, but was wondering about the crowds otherwise?
I am going to try to beg my husband to either take me out there for our anniversary on May 12th or for our short trip out on May 21st. Does anyone have an idea of how busy either of those days might be?

I would guess that the 21st would be less busy since it's a Monday.
Awesome! Thanks so very much! I'll try to sweet talk the DH.

There's a very slight possibility we may be there from Mon 18 June to about Friday 22 June. This is the week after DCA is re-opening. Is it likely to be crazy, or will it have died down a bit after the weekend?
It'll be crazy all summer if not longer.
I'm really hoping that since we will be there 2 weeks before the opening, it won't be as bad...hoping people are holding off going for the big debut. We will be there 6/2-6/9, but only going 3 days during the week in hopes of missing some of the bigger crowds. Am I dreaming?! LOL
My Family And I Have A Trip Planned For May 26-28 Which Is A Saturday-Monday..What Are The Crowd levels Usually At This Point In The Year? I See Its A AP Blockout Date So Should That Help With Crowd Levels?
Any thoughts on whether Nov 18-21 will be more or less busy than Dec 16-19? Our school district is giving the 3rd week before Christmas rather than after this year (making it technically the first week
. It may be a rude awakening for us as we normally visit earlier in Dec or in Feb during the week. With DD starting school this year I was looking to avoid pulling her out unnecessarily but it is making trip planning more challenging.

Nov. 18-21 is the week before Thanksgiving this year. My sister visits DLR during that week almost every year, and it has been getting increasingly more crowded each year. This year, with so many people wanting to see Cars Land, I have a feeling that my sister's trip will be pretty challenging. So the Dec. dates might be better. We've found that even though the parks are crowded the last two weeks of Dec., people seem have more holiday spirit, so the crowds just seem easier to deal with.
another measure to consider the increase in crowds for the 2 holidays is what type of increase occured over Memorial Day for the entire nation. The news is forcasting a 25 % increase of folks leaving home and traveling elsewhere for the weekend. If that comes true, then it would be more likely that such an increase in families will travel over the Christmas Holidays. Tea4two is correct about Carsland, it will increase crowds and to what extent we won't know till end of summer. I would choose November over
Christmas because of more families traveling for that holiday and the strange school holiday schedule. Here in oregon we have the entire week after New years with no time off for Christmas. And I would think that there would fewer children the age of your child in the park during the Nov week, making avaiable short waits for age appropriate rides. And I am also watching the bleak econmic forcast that came out this morning, folks may say this Christmas holiday, "it's now or never", so that could be a increase factor for 2012 crowds.
You get 3 weeks off at Christmas time? Jealous!
Most school districts won't be off until the 22nd of December, so it shouldn't be too busy. Historically that is supposed to be a good time to visit; it's great for you that you get that time off.
We get three weeks off too. We are off dec 15 until the first mOnday of January.
We will be in the parks Dec 15-19
I don't know if I am doing something wrong...but I can't get our dates for next week to come up on the touring calendar. We will be there Monday 6/4 to Wednesday 6/7. Can anyone see on the touring calendar how busy it will be? Hoping not as busy because of the Carsland opening in a few weeks!
