Annual Passholder
Mobile Magic [Use at Disneyland]
Has anyone used/tried out the Verizon Disney mobile app?
According to the most recent Backstage Pass it lets you know wait times for rides, fastpass returns, and character locations if you have a GPS enabled phone.
Since I have a Sprint phone I can't get the app, but there is a mobile website for everyone else that is limited at best.
The website for all the Disney Mobile info is DisneyParks.com/mobile

I did download it. We'll be at the park this weekend for MA, so I'll be able to try it out it person. Not a whole lot of info so far on wait times, but I've been only checking during the day or late at night.
It syncs to where you are, so I wonder if something changes when you are in the park.

The way I understood it you would only get actual wait times when you were in the park. When you are out of the park you will get something like short, moderate or long. Not sure about the fastpass return times though.

Disney's mobile Web site is pretty but doesn't have a lot of actually useful data for guests in the park. Or if it does, it's hidden way deep behind layers of opaque menus. I couldn't find wait time information, which was the only thing I was looking for.

You aren't going to the site listed above for the wait times are you? You want m.disneyland.com

Yes, m.disneyland.com is where I went.

Click on the park you want and then on Attractions, and you'll see the third choice is Browse by Wait Times. You won't get actual times (that is only in the Mobile Magic app, and then only when you are actually in the park), but something like Short, Moderate or Long.

Disneyland mobile site - wait times?
I was trying out the disneyland mobile site sunday since they haven't yet released the verizon app for my Blackberry, and it has a section showing wait times for rides. Instead of times though, it says High Demand, Moderate, or See Now. It didnt' seem like they ever changed or updated though, and at one point I walked by HMH and it said 6 minute wait and the mobile site said High Demand. Pirates was a walk-on and said Moderate. Buzz said See Now but it had a 30 minute wait because SM AND Autopia were broken down.
Is this just supposed to be a comparative estimate based on typical wait times? Or was it supposed to be up-to-date and accurate? Has anyone else used this? I had my GPS turned on and I was in the park.

I have also tried the Disneyland mobile site and found it less than useful for the same reasons you mentioned.

Mobile App - Wait Times
I read somewhere that there is a downloadable app that you can use while at DL to let you know wait times. Where do I find it? It is downloadable on a BlackBerry?

Every Day Is Disneyland Day!
Nope, no BlackBerry app yet, only on other Verizon phones. You can use the m.disneyland.com site and get some of the same stuff, but I have never been able to get up to the minute wait times like some people have.

My kids have an app on their ipod touches that gives them wait times in minutes. Not sure how accurate they are but we will be testing it at Easter while we are in the park.

Mousewait for the iphone = best app

Every Day Is Disneyland Day!
Yeah, yeah Mousewait is grand, but I refuse to use AT&T because there is no reception in half the park.
That is a totally different app than the verizon disney mobile app

Mousewait is awesome! My sister has an iphone with AT&T and she had no issues with bad reception when we were there in January. She was able to make and receive calls all over both parks. She even had reception in our room at PPH.

I used MouseWait extensively last week. I had family calling me from across the park to ask what wait times were. The only place I didn't have reception with AT&T was deep inside Indy.
P.S. Having an iPhone saved my sanity when the two year-old insisted on going on Pooh repeatedly while mom and the older kids rode splash a couple of times.
-
I reception on my ATT Tilt almost everywhere- deep inside a few rides I don't, but I usually turn it off on rides anyways.
-
I have AT&T and I have good reception in the parks everywhere expect Tomorrow Land. It's pretty spotty over there.
Some models of phone get better reception than others, so reception will vary from user to user.

Droid Users
For you Droid Users, there is an app called "Ride Hopper" that is similar to the mouse wait app for the iphone. It has multiple theme parks, and rely's on users updating and entering wait times while at the park. It is pretty cool. I used it last time I was at the park.

Disney Parks Mobile Magic for Verizon

Yellowrosedtxn
So, is it worth getting or should I just keep the Unofficial Guilde app I have or get the Walt Disney World Maps for 2.99? I have to go to the m.disneyland.com to check that out as well.
