    Last Movie Seen III

I forgot how good UP was. We just got done watching it and it was better than I even remembered.

BTW we got it at Costco for $28.99 in a 4 disc BluRay pack that came with the BluRay feature and a bonus disc, a regular dvd copy and a digital copy. I don't know if this was exclusive to Costco but the package we bought also came with a real Disney/Pixar Grape Soda Pin like the kind you would buy in the parks, it even has the Mickey head pin back.

    Up

Mom loved the movie and especially Kevin. I could not explain the movie so she watched it and loved it. She actually for once followed the movie and had few questions. 10/10 excellent movie.

Saw the shorts and she loved both that came with the DVD.

"2012" - It was a decent disaster film, and John Cusack is always fun to watch. I don't think it had as many spectacular iconic things destroyed as in ID4 though. Loved Danny Glover as the president.

Watched "West Side Story" on DVD with DD(13). She loved it and we both got watery eyes at the end.

    Marley
it is about a couple who get a puppy so he can quell her need to mother thus delaying or holding off them having kids. It is his boring life, kids, changing homes twice, changing jobs twice, and a pain in the rump dog whose owners needed to be sent to obedience school.

What kind of person would live with a neutered male dog that knocks people down, knocks the owners down, knocks their kids down, wakes the baby, desroys furniture and everything in site, and is a wild animal basically.

How hard could it be to train the dog to be respectful of the family? they though it was cute that their dog ate her necklace. I wonder if they will make a sequel like Marley's Bratty Family starring the owners' kids destroying the house, cheating, lying, breaking things, and other nasty stuff.

The actor is best known for his dumb roles and is not that great either. The fast forward sequence was so jerky and boring and inane.

    I ABHORRED THIS MOVIE.

    ============================

    Madagascar: Back 2 Africa
I loved this movie especially the old Jewish-type of little old lady from Y0onkers and her group of stranded New Yorkers who had a very thick and obvious accent. The little old lady was the protagonist who was a kung fu granny with an attitude and a survivor. Hero among the stranded humans. I liked her spunk.

the penguins were great in their at times Hogan's Heros type of stealth efforts to save the day.

Great dance numbers and loved the silly lemur king and his major domo.
Alex finds out his Roots and ends up with the gang in Africa. Good story. A bit adult at times but still kids friendly enough.

Yep that is the movie. Marley & Me

If you want one I seen in the last 3 months that is one of the best movies ever. Holiday Heart stars Ving Rhames as a female impersonator and church musician. His lover is a closet Gay and dies. Holiday is broken up and lives in a duplex they owned. One day he defends Alfre Woodward and from there ends up raising her daughter. You really need to see the movie and have tissues.

Every night is a movie with mom and I have seen so many but am keeping current ones. Up is one of the best movies ever.

I finally saw The Invention Of Lying. I liked it - but I'm a sucker for Ricky Gervais. With the recent death of my grandmother, I got super teary eyed at the scenes with his mom...but enjoyed the movie. Jennifer Garner is so cute!

I loved Marley & Me. A whole lot. My entire family did - I loved the book too. I cried more while reading the book than I did with the movie (it wasn't a pretty sight). While on a cruise this past summer one of the movies they showed was Marley & Me. Of course, I inevitably tuned in just in time to watch the dog get older and pass away.

Just watched The Golden Compass again. I really enjoy this film. Just sorry that it didn't do well enough for them to film the sequels.

Watched Love Actually it was a movie people had told me to see for a year now. I watched it but didn't think it was that great of a movie.

Up again and Mom chose that this time. First time is not the same as the second or third time you see.

Saw The Blind Side today and loved it! I read the book last week, and found it fascinating except for the parts just about football, but I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Very touching with plenty of humor.

The Men Who Stare At Goats. Really enjoyed it. In fact, going and seeing it again for all the parts I missed while laughing. Highly recommend it.

. . . unless you invested in it.

I also liked "A Christmas Carol," but there were times--especially near the end--when I thought that I would have rather have seen Jim C's actual face than the less animated, animated one. At times I don't know why Robert Z. seems obsessed with making animation look so much like photography. It will probably always fail in that--at least for a couple more decades.

I have seen "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" twice in the last 27 hours. Clooney did a great job voicing a sharp script over inspired music.

I think "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" and "Ponyo" are both worthy of "Best Animated Feature" Oscars. My four-year-old probably liked Ponyo a little more, but I thought both movies were excellent. Yes, "Up" was good--all Pixar moves are at least good, but maybe not one of Pixar's 6 (out of 10) best.

I saw The Blind Side this weekend and enjoyed it. I don't think they captured the true obsessiveness of SEC fans towards their schools, though - but they did attempt it with the family's disdain for Tennessee.

I thought they did a good job getting the appropriate staff in for cameos, too! Though there were a couple of (quiet) boos for Nick Saban when he was representing LSU in the movie (he left LSU as prediced for the NFL and has now gone to Alabama, which is not viewed with favor in LSU country!)

Saw "New Moon" of course, on opening weekend. 2 DDs and I are fans (Yea Jacob!).
Watched "X-Men Origins:Wolverine" on DVD. It was good. I'm not a fan of X-Men but the family is.
Yesterday, saw "A Christmas Carol" in 3D. It was very good. Great animation, enjoyed seeing this version of the story. Watched the Mr. Magoo version every year when I was young!

    That worked!

Saw "Princess and the Frog" yesterday. Our whole family really loved the movie and I really love seeing Disney make this kind of movie once again.
