I was just there on Saturday (ACK CROWDS, NEVER AGAIN!) and I had noticed the missing kitties. Only one lonely kitty up there.

I don't remember seeing the crab... and I can't recall if the parrot was there.

Has anyone checked the pot in the kitchen. Maybe the BB needed some crab meat, asap. Just a thought.

the dirty foot guy is still missing
    the crab is still missing
    only one lonely cat

and has anyone noticed that there seems to be less and less firefly.

Also the battle show scene seems to be missing a few of the effects added during the captian jack sparrow addition. The cannons do not pop as much as they used to and the air cannons are not working so you do not feel the cannon flying over your head like before.

    Eek!

Man, you guys make its sound so depressing! Now I both really want to, and really don't want to go ride Pirates for fear of discovering how horrible it truly is right now.

But on the other hand, it is pirates, I can't believe they would let so much go wrong, right?

To me, it's interesting to note what might be missing at any given time, but having a couple elements not be present while I'm on the attraction in no way ruins it for me.

I agree. We rode POTC last week and while I noticed these things were missing because they had been listed, the rest of my group never noticed it and we all enjoyed it.

yeah, those things were all missing yesterday but the ride is still wonderful and MUCH better than the one in Florida even with the missing elements!

I will be in the parks this Friday and I will report back if Crabby and the Stinky Foot Pirate have returned. This has been a fun thread to read!

Last time we rode, the waterfall screen effect was not working. Just silence and darkness, it was very spooky. I enjoy that effect, but I miss hearing the old conversation between the pirates, "Perhaps he knooooowwwws toooo much!"

He does know too much. That is the problem and probably why they took stinky foot out. They had to wipe his memory.

I agree that even without "Crabby" and "Stinky Foot" and friends, the Pirates is still an excellent ride and well worth it. They are admittedly "minor characters," but being the fans we are, we miss even the minor characters when they're gone.

You know, what we really need is contact info. for somebody who maintains the rides in the park. I would assume each ride has a person who monitors how everything is going. Can any CMs out there point us in the right direction?

I think the maintenance people have more important things to do than keep us posted on whether the damn crab has been returned to the attraction. Thousands of guests cycle through Pirates every hour. The guests take two sizable drops and are in close proximity to a lot of potentially dangerous equipment.

Telling a bunch of fans where the crab is and when it's coming back should be LOW on the priority list.

If anybody is in the park and can check and tell us, please do, we'd all like the information. But I don't think distracting the maintenance people is a good idea.

Wow - I don't know if I want to ride it ever again. Sounds way to dangerous.

Agreed, and again the loss of some minor characters isn't much to worry about. This isn't meant to take someone away from their important work so much as it is to try and solve a mystery. The important work comes first, and Crabby and friends need to wait until later. I guess the question is why such a long wait is necessary.

Gee, and here I thought that "a bunch of fans" could ask whatever questions or discuss whatever of interest to them at DLR here on MP.

Could I get a copy of the memo outlining what we have to consider before we mention something we've noticed and wondered about? In this case it seems to be the pressure being put on maintenance and safety staff, who are so busy they wouldn't be spending whatever spare time they have reading these forums.

Any updates on the missing crab, pirate, cats and other tiems?
Is it only Pirates or are other attractions missing things?
Are we obsessed with Disney parks when we notice damage, missing items and changes?

Basically, yes. But that's part of the fun of being a fan, when you can notice and appreciate the little things that most people probably wouldn't catch. And Disneyland is full of "little things" that make the experience more fun.
