Bounce Back Offers

We are taking a short 5 day trip to WDW in October just for the Halloween party and decorations. We are still pallning our big trip in February.

In the past we have had the "bounce-back" offers in the room where you get a discount for booking your next trip before you check-out. Since we have only gone once per year, we have never paid much attention to the offer.

Does anyone know if the offer is only good for the year (Jan-Dec) or would we be able to take advantage of it in Oct for the Feb trip?

If anyone is going soon and wouldn't mind sharing the information in greater detail, that would be much appreciated.

Hopefully, someone with more knowledge than me will come here to give you a definitive answer.

It is my understanding that the bounceback offer means you can use a special phone number provided on a flyer in your room to book a room during selected low season dates of the same calendar year. You must book while you are staying at WDW - i.e. you can't book the offer once you get home (but you can make changes to it.) For example, we stayed at POFQ in May and booked a bounceback in December to Coronado. But once we checked our finances when we got home, we called back and changed up to the Yacht Club. The discounts are 20% off rack rates at Value resorts; 30% off rack rates at Moderate and Deluxe resorts; or 40% off rack rates at DVC/Deluxe Villa resorts. There have also been free dining bouncebacks - i.e. people who stayed and used free dining last year received a bounceback offer to do it again this year.

If it's based on the calendar year it won't help us in Feburary. That would be a shame...

We were given a bounceback offer May '08 but couldn't use it. This was our only trip that we got one. We are going May '10 and hoping for an offer for November. Is this offer typical now?

Shula - the bounceback offer that I referred to in the post above is typical. They are on a card in every resort room. When we were there in May, the offer was on a pocket watch clock design (like the rabbit in Alice in Wonderland.) If the brochure is not in your room, make sure to ask for it at the front desk. The discounts of 20% off rack rates at Value resorts; 30% off rack rates at Moderate and Deluxe resorts; or 40% off rack rates at DVC/Deluxe Villa resorts are open to anyone currently staying on property at a WDW hotel.

These "bounceback" room discounts are different from the PIN code offers that people receive by e-mail - those are "random" - and open only to those who receive it.

HoppyPooh - we had the same pocket watch style offer in our room during our trip in Aug '08. Are bounceback offers common or are they offered randomly throughout the year?

I'm curious as to whether they're available in the resorts for guests vacationing now - we're going back in a few weeks and I'd love to take advantage of one!

I'm hoping in Dec they will have bouncebacks for 2010 dates. I'm really hoping I can book time in late April 2010 when I am there in Dec 09 for example.
