Anyone eaten there? I was just watching some clips on U-Tube and it looks like fun! I didn't think my children would deal with Japanese food, but that kind of looks like they're just griddling steak, shrimp and chicken. Is is very unusal to eat?

I haven't been since they re-did it - but it was basically grilled meat and veggies. I think even a fairly 'picky' eater could deal well at that restaurant. (Unless they changed it a lot when they remodeled it. I haven't been back because it was actually a little boring (cuisine wise), for me - and there are so many other choices in Epcot!)
That, and my sister and I were eating slower than the other people at our table, so we felt really rushed.

Oh that's a good answer for me then! A little boring is just up my son's street. I'm hoping to do a few less buffets next time as he'll be on the adult DDP (and eats like a horse....) and I think a character buffet every other day will be at bit much with a 9 and 12 year old. I just know that a lot of the places 'I' would choose though will just be too much of a push for him and I don't care enough to make a scene about it. This looks like it might make our list now!

It's a fun show and yes, it's mostly just grilled food. While the presentation and staff are Japanese, I feel like the food is very well suited to the average American palate. (My ex English boyfriend, who was the world's pickiest eater, also loved this kind of stuff, as did all his relatives.)
I would recommend this over some other places if you have picky eaters, especially kids.
So I'm reading my bean feed...

I went there for the first time in December and I thought that it was PERFECT for picky eaters. Tasty but not a ton of layered flavors. Just meats, veg, and starch. Pretty straight forward prep. Should be a slam-dunk.
Working hard for that next WDW trip! December 2013
We are eating there for the first time on our September trip. I will be sure to report back and try to remember to take some pictures of the food and all.
We are really looking forward to it. DD picked it as her Birthday Dinner.

We ate lunch at Teppan Edo in April for my husband's birthday. My kids loved it! Ages: 11, 8 and 2. We had chicken, shrimp and steak. It was all good! The fans for the grills are quite loud and we had trouble understanding everything our servers said...so we would just smile and nod our heads. My husband and I laughed because who know what we were agreeing to! :-)
The staff was extremely polite and helpful. My daughter lost a small hair bow and they went out of their way to find it and hold on to it for us.
I think you will enjoy it! Great place for everyone...even picky eaters!
You have to go upstairs to get to the restaurant. We were a little confused. There are two restaurants and they seem to share the same waiting area.
Have a great time!
Excellent news! I was a bit confused though. Is the hot plate they cook your food on a safe enough distance from the eating area? Me and DS are both pretty accident prone....

My kids all really like Teppan Edo. As do I.
No need to worry Scooby the grills are far enough away that this is not an issue with kids. They will warn the children that the grills are hot before you enter the dining room.
What I love the most about this place is I have a daughter with allergies. She is allergic to soy. They cook everything right in front of you. I love knowing that her food is always prepared first and I see for myself what goes in her food as it is prepared. The other great thing is my picky eater son adores their veggies. I always know when eat here that all three kids will have a healthy meal.

We are headed here in September as well. We have a local place that is the same type of set up. The 2nd time we went, our DS wanted to bring the fire extinguisher. Just in case. It was pretty funny.
Better keep your eye on me...I'll go coastal on ya....
