    Guest Services or Ticket Window

I hear that you can get your free b-day ticket at guest services so you don't have to stand in the ticket line is that correct?

Yes. But compare the lines, remembering the ticket line can have up to I think 6 windows open, whereas Guest Services rarely has more than 2 open.

Recently, I think it might have been last Sunday, the line at Guest Services was probably about 25 or more deep. Insane.

Yesterday (Saturday) the ticket booths had several windows wide open. I would do the ticket booths.

And also keep in mind that the ticket booths on the east side of the Esplanade can be much less crowded than the ones on the west side.

What time do the tickets booths open? We have to exchange our miltary vouchers for our actual tickets. We will be going to DCA that morning so we will have extra time.

If you are arriving the night before- I strongly suggest taking the time to do it the evening before. If you are staying on-site, I beleive the hotel can do it for you. I DRAGGED my husband over the night we arrived (11PM) Parked closed at midnight. We parked in the 15 minute lot off Harbor, and it took us 20 minutes total. That was walking from the lot, through bag check (didn't have any), across the esplande (I asked the CM at bag check which booths were open), exchanged our vouchers, and back to the car. Now the next day when we got to the parks the lines for the booths was easily an hour long. (This wouldn't work for the B-day ticket) But we did have one in our party, but it was the last day, so it was better to pay the extra $5 for the 5th day of the hopper, and get her a fun card worth $69 to spend. And this we waited until afternoon, and went to City Hall with No line.

It's for 2 B-days actually...maybe I'll just get our tix in adavance and then get the fun card when we get there at city hall.. it sounds like that way we would save time..we are only going for the day...

It may depend on the day and time. We went on a Wed. around 2:30 and there was about 10 or 12 groups in the ticket booth line (but not all the windows were open so the line barely moved). I looked over and noticed no one was at guest services and walked right up to the window and got the BD gift card.

We will be getting down there hopefully around 8am Wed, the plan is to drop off bags at hotel GC, then walk over to exchange vouchers for tickets then we are going into DCA they don't open till 10am so I don't think the wait will be that bad. I have never seen bad lines at the tickets booth. If we could exchange them at the hotel that would be great, but I doubt it.

The lines at City Hall have been long too. We got to the park and my sister got in line for her b-day sticker. I got a locker, went to the bathroom, and she had only advanced 1-2 people. We waited a good 15 minutes, with 4 CMs working. Around 5pm we got her fun card at the ticket booth. They hassled her about not having an confirmation email, but it didn't take too long, about 7-8 minutes.

On Saturday, I went to City Hall to get birthday buttons for some people, and there wasn't a very long line, but they also had a CM who had a pouch (kind of like the former Dream folks), and she had them in her pouch, so when she asked what I needed and I told her, she pulled me out of line, wrote out the buttons for me, and I was on my way.

They should not have hassled your sister about not having the email. I would consider sending in a comment through the website just to let them know, and hopefully, they'll better educate their CMs.

We actually didn't get Parker's birthday button at City Hall on the 1st. I didn't want to wait in a line 15 people deep for a button for him. We had 6 toddlers so we thought it would be better to NOT make them all wait. Anyhow, my point is that we got his button at CRBBQ when we checked in for lunch. They also gave all of the kids "I'm celebrating" buttons as well, which I thought was very cute.

Now see, we went in the afternoon to get the gift card at city hall, no line and the CM only asked if she was pre-registered. When we said no, she said no problem it will only take me a moment to input the info.

We went to Minnie's for breakfast one morning and were asked if we were celebrating anything, buttons ready. Our problem was they had NO breakfast in the Park buttons. The CM said they were out.

And Mrs. Disney staying at the GC you should be able to exchange them at the desk. Our vouchers (not military) said right on them guests of DLR hotels could exchange them at the front desk. You might call and check. It would save time. Cause yeah, we were there for 5 days 2 weeks ago and EVERYDAY the ticket booth lines were bad, as was guest services, in the AM.

I looked at our tickets I don't see anywhere on there about exchanging them at one of the hotels. I will call though, thanks for the heads up.
