Hoping to convince my DH to make a weekend trip over the kids spring break, the $99 Florida resident tickets are calling to me
, I've made some dining reservations "just in case"
Ideally, I'd like to drive up thursday 3/22, we'll probably stay off-site at either the Marriott World Center or the JW Marriott (but that's far from WDW) or the Hilton in Bonnett Creek (which ever one will give us the best deal or take our points)
so dinner 3/22 will be at one of our favorite off site places (Bubbalou's BBQ, Trey Yuan, Black Angus) or at Downtown Disney (Raglan Road or Fulton's)
3/23 dinner at Le Cellier
3/24 dinner at Mama Melrose
3/25 lunch at Yak & Yeti
Now if this trip fall through, I'm counting on you guys to remind me to cancel these reservations so I don't get charged $40!!!

Were you asked to leave credit card info for any of the above ADRs? If not, then there is no charge for non-cancellation. It's still the right thing to do, though!

Yes Dan, Le Cellier now requires a credit card deposit and a 24 hour cancellation policy.
I always (well I try) to cancel reservations we aren't using, even if they're for "right now".
I'll admit I used to make multiple ADRs at multiple parks for the same time often, I haven't done it in a few years, but I really don't like the idea of a 24 hour cancel or pay policy, it really takes some of the "fun" out of it for me. If we're stuck on a line (or a ride!) or have transportation issues, I don't think I should be penalized.

Hi all,
I'm a fairly experience Disneyland person, but I have only been to WDW once about 15 years ago. This trip it will just be me and my 9 year old son. He's fairly adventuresome when it comes to eating. I'm probably more picky than him. I'd like to have a nice mix of places and experiences (and good food, of course). Let me know if you have recommendations on doing something different. We will be at WDW for 7 nights (using the dining plan with one table service, one counter service, and one snack). I've made the following ADRs:
Lunch on Mother's Day at Coral Reef
Dinner at 50’s Prime Time Caf
Lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern
Breakfast at Tusker House
Lunch and Yak and Yeti
Breakfast at Boma
Dinner at 'Ohana
Has anyone eaten breakfast at Tusker House? Or reservations are for 8:05 (before the park opens). How does that work? When you're done eating, can you go jump on the safari right away?
I'd love to hear any advice or comments.
There will be one gate open for early diners. You go straight up to Tusker House and eat. You can't ride any rides till park opening, but you'll be much closer to it than anyone at the front gate. It's really a cool way to start a park day - walking through an almost empty park, eating a fine breakfast, and then beating most of the crowd to that first attraction!

I was thinking to experience Bistro de Paris since of course, I love French food. I booked it and now looking over the menu, I think I prefer Chefs de France for dinner.
I did book dinner at California Grill!!! I am purchasing an AP since I happen to have several upcoming trips this year but am I reading correctly that it only applies to dinner? And it doesn't cover alcohol right?

...there is no AP discount for the California Grill. There are specific restaurants that have an AP discount. You might want to look into the Tables in Wonderland card. For $75 a year you get 20% off of all table service and even some quickserve locations, and it includes alcohol. I have no trouble at all getting my $75 back, and I'm just a solo park stormer!
I've eaten several times in both the Bistro and Le Chefs, and I much prefer the Bistro. Much quieter, more elegant without feeling stuffy. If it's just a matter of menu items, go with what works for you. But as an experience the Bistro ranks much higher than Le Chefs for me!

I can imagine that my experience at Bistro would be great...I am keeping the ressie for now and will decide in a few weeks.
About the TIW, can it be used at sit down lunches? I can't find any information that it can't. I can't believe it includes alcohol! I think I will definitely get it since after April I have an August trip with my sister and it looks like I can give everyone at my table the discount.

If a restaurant is on the TiW list, the discount can be had any time they're open - breakfast, lunch or dinner. And not only does the discount include things like wine with dinner, but you can go to the Rose & Crown Pub (or your watering hole of choice), drink like a fish, and apply the 20% discount. Makes spending the evening at the R&C much nicer!

So not an ADR yet, but since I am now getting the TiW, I am considering Raglan Road. Any recommendations here? Is there a bar I can eat at? The menu looks great and definitely sounds like a fun drink atmosphere.

Raglan Road is a great place to go for drinks/food. They do have a bar and there are tables that you can sit at. If you are there at night there is a band and an Irish Dancer who dances on a tiny stage in the center of the restaurant. The food is very good, never had a bad meal there.

I'm dreaming of Disney food and decided to plan where I'd want to eat if we go to DHs convention in October (no kids). Priorities are Epcot F&W and seeing AK (probably won't even hit MK or DHS unless we are there longer than I have figured out in my head), but I though fireworks view at Cali Grill would be good on a non park/conference day. After AK, maybe explore AKL and eat at Jiko. Okay, now I'm drooling!

All except Tony's are new to us. I know Tony's gets knocked around here but we haven't eaten there since 2005 so we feel it's time for a return visit. We may just do the booths at the Food & Wine one evening, if so that leaves us with one evening meal yet to be planned. We're leaning toward either Boma which we both love or Yak & Yeti for our extra magic hours night at the AK which I love but which will be new to my boyfriend.
I keep wanting to get back to The Wave.

Try the mole at La Hacienda -- it was SUPER yummy when my sister and I did a tequila pairing luncheon! (Like, curl your toes yummy!)
