Yeah, I haven't heard too much about the Luau in a while. Let us know how you liked it. I always try to add some new places each trip too!

Yes, I was talking about Wolf Gang. If you try it you may like it...

We don't have too many planned for this trip since it is shorter AND last year as much as I loved planning, I realized I need some room to go with the flow with a smallish child (5 last year, 6 now).
So, this year here are our ADRs:
1900 Park Fare - I REALLY wanted it last year, but couldn't get in
Tusker House Breakfast - We never made it to AK as early as we hoped last year and ran out of time there so I figured booking an early breakfast would help us get moving, however it's an early EMH day so I wonder if it will take us just as long to get stuff done because of the crowd.
Rainforest Cafe at DtD - Did it last year with friends and their family, meeting them again and doing it again.
LAST YEAR I loved Yak and Yeti and Chef Mickey's for breakfast

No countdown right now
We're trying a couple new ones this time, but several old favorites too ...
Boma
Coral Reef
Hollywood & Vine
Liberty Tree Tavern
Crystal Palace
Biergarten
'Ohana
If I could make ADRs @ Flame Tree BBQ I would, but it's a counter service restaurant, so they don't take ADRsIt is an absolute must for us each time

Countdown up & running, once again
I'm not planning a trip until next July, but my dream ADRs would be:
Hoop Dee Doo review (never been there)
Beaches and Creme (I keep hearing good things about it)
Whispering Canyon (I would hope they still have a high energy level)
Ohana
50's Prime Time Cafe (A must do on every trip!)
Teppan Edo (we just really enjoy Japanese)
Boma (another must do)
And quick stops at the Kona Cafe for the infamous Tonga Toast, the Flame Tree Barbeque (with their super addicitive BBQ sauce), and the Kona Island Sushi bar (unless it's PS, then throw it on the above list).
Boo... Thinking about WDW makes me hungry!
"You know, some guys just can't hold their arsenic!"
You cannot upgrade, but what about paying out of pocket for HDDR and using the two dining credits a different night(s)?
Having said that--I haven't been, but a lot of people say Tier 2 category seating is just fine. (also, if you have a handicapped person, you will have to have Tier 1 seating I believe)
If I go down, I'm going down fat and full.
Chip, Beaches & Cream is excellent, but they don't take ADRs (just FYI). It is considered a TS credit, though, and isn't your greatest bang-for-the-buck. When I go there, I try to split a burger with whomever is along and just pay OOP (out of pocket).
The Sushi Bar at Poly--isn't that that little kiosk/bar type place next to Kona? It seemed fairly busy the last time I was there
Working hard for that next WDW trip! December 2013
Yes, the sushi bar at the Poly is right beside the Kona Cafe. My husband got sushi to go from there when we stayed in March. He said that it was very good. They also have the same sushi menu if you eat at the Kona Cafe, which was one of our two favorite places to eat the week that we were there. Our other favorite was Le Cellier.
It's a good thing I have a few months to go before I can make ADRs, because I'm totally overthinking it. My DH and I are veterans, and we're taking my parents (semi-veterans) and our son (3, first trip) for the free dining. Here are our picks so far (people with small children, give me your advice!)
Day 1
Whispering Canyon for lunch
Liberty Tree Tavern dinner
Day 2
Hollywood/Vine char. breakfast
Day 3
Ohana dinner
Day 4 (CS only)
Day 5
Tusker House char. breakfast
Day 6
Boma dinner
I still have 1 more TS to use. Do you think 2 character meals are too many? No telling if Liberty Tree will have characters or not. I heard rumors in both directions.

With a 3 year old, I don't think 2 character meals is too many - by any stretch.
I think you need a table service in World Showcase.

First Visit for us 2 adults and 2 Sons 9 and 7
May 19 Dinner @ Chef Mickeys
May 20 Lunch @ SCI FI Theater
May 21 Lunch @ Tusker House with PS for Finding Nemo
May 22 Dinner @ Crystal Palace
May 23 Lunch @ Biergarten
May 24 Breakfast @ Crystal Palace
May 25 Dinner @ 50's Primetime Cafe
Okay, I've talked it over with the kids. This is what we have decided.
Chef Mickey's breakfast
Crystal Palace lunch
1900 Park Fare supper
Biergarten lunch
Whispering Canyon Cafe lunch
Ohana breakfast
We will have a 7th TS option and are thinking of doing Tusker House for lunch with the priority seating for Finding Nemo. The problem I have with it is I'm thinking I would never choose that location for lunch if it weren't for the PS Nemo option. I have about 2 weeks to decide before my 90 day window opens up.
Here our ours, less than 3 weeks to go!
Supercalifragilistic Breakfast at Grand Floridian
San Angel Inn
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Whispering Canyon Caf (Breakfast)
Cinderellas Royal Table (Dinner)
Donalds Safari Breakfast at Tusker House
Yak and Yeti
California Grill
Coral Reef
Victoria and Alberts
Chefs de France
Hollywood Brown Derby
Skawt- I would love to know what you think of all of them, but especially Yachtman Steakhouse and San Angel Inn.
Kristin
It's funny that you mention those two as I just changed our plans last week to add them. We originally had lunch at Le Cellier and dinner at Citricos but decided it would be too much running around to make it back to the Yacht and Beach Clucb for the illuminations cruise that night so we are just staying in the local area.
I really wanted to try Le Cellier and Citricos but it's good to have something to look forward to for the next trip!
That would have been a tough decision for me of Citricos vs Yachtsman (I really really enjoyed both of those restaurants) but you're probably wise to stay in the area of the Illuminations cruise. I don't know which dock they pick you up at, but if it's normally the Boardwalk, you might want to ask if they can pick you up at Beach/Yacht dock instead - since that's almost a straight direct shot from the restaurant.
You do have some FANTASTIC restaurants chosen overall, too. How many days are you going to be there?
Cathy
The cruise pickup is at Bayside marina at the Yacht and Beach Club.
We have a total of 6 nights at WDW but coming from the west coast you lose a day on either end so to maximize the package plan we are starting off with Tuesday night at Coronado Springs, then moving to Wilderness Lodge for 4 nights, and a final night for 5-6 hours of sleep at the Pop Century before catching an early flight out on Monday.
There is one other lunch in the Backstage Magic tour, I believe it is at Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge so we'll get to try that as well.
My second trip we are not doing the dining plan.. we are actually only doing 3 sit downs.. because I am going to be there just a week b4. We are doing different ones... (obviously) We are having lunch at the Plaza Resturant. Dinner at Chef Mickey's, and I had to say goodbye- so Dinner at Spoodles.. The rest.. QUICK SERVICE SALADS.. I will be a PORKER by the end of May.. 18 days in Disney in one Month.. That's just crazy but I LOVE ITT!
Hoop-de-Doo-Revue (1st time)
Akershus Princess Breakfast (1st time)
Crystal Palace Pooh Breakfast (old favourite)
Raglan Road Dinner (1st time)
Chef Mickey's Dinner (1st time)
Everything else for us is non-ADR: Cantina de San Angel, Pecos Bills, Flame Tree BBQ, ESPN Club, Electric Umbrella, Sunshine Seasons, Studio Catering Co., Toy Story Pizza, and Cosmic Rays.

Our ADR booking window doesn't open until June ... but here are my thoughts so far. Many are repeats of March because we were so pleased with the food. This trip will be just DH and me. We're not looking for character meals, but are ok with having characters there as long as the food is yummy.
We're not particularly into fancy dining (though we'll make exceptions now and then) & we're quite fond of buffets.
Le Cellier (this will be on our 10th Anniversary - haven't eaten there yet)
Chef Mickey's Dinner (did it in March and LOVED the food)
Crystal Palace Lunch (ditto)
Perhaps Primetime since we won't have a meal planned in DHS. Is there a better option in DHS?
We may be leaning toward doing Garden Grill again as well. The food there was quite good. Liberty Tree might also be an option.
We have six-day park tickets (not hoppers), staying 5 nights at POFQ & we have the free dining plan. I know we'll be doing each park at least once -- probably two days at Epcot. We could have changed to 5-day park tickets, but it would have been a whopping savings of roughly $3 per person. We will probably do an out-of-pocket dinner in DTD the night we arrive since our bodies will be on West Coast time (probably arriving at the airport around 6pm).

Everything in life is only for now.
Nope - it never ends.
I can't make mine yet, but we plan on...
5 dinners
CAPE MAY CLAM BAKE (GO THERE EVERY TIME)
CRYSTAL PALACE
BOMA
WHISPERING CANYON
OHANA
1 breakfast
PROBABLY CHEF MICKEY'S, BUT MAYBE 1900 PARK FARE
I can't wait and hope that we will be able to get adrs at all these places!
Hey, shna, one that is really supposed to be great in HS is Hollywood Brown Derby; although, it counts as 2 table service meals on the dining plan. It's really supposed to be a nice restaurant with great food--and especially nice for a couple. have fun!
Ok, so I can not book the actual ADR's until the end of June, but here is what I am hoping for...
Dinner - Le Cellier (9th wedding anniverssary)
Lunch - Yak & Yeti - new to us
Dinner - Crystal Palace (has my husband's favorite apple dessert thingy)
Dinner - Kona Cafe (for my husband's b-day)
I'm guessing Le Cellier may be the only issue that we have getting. If we can't may splurge and go to California Grill instead.
