Where are your ADRs?
I am interested in where everyone is eating at for their upcoming trips. I am going to have to make my ressies in a little over a month so let me live vicariously through you until then!
Also include if you are on the dining plan and which one it is!

I am calling once a week to see if any one has given up their Le Cellier reservation so I can take it but it's not looking good.
We'll be visiting Hurricane Hanna's and Beaches and Cream while we're there but they are walk up.
Don't forget to give us dining reviews when you get back!

I REALLY like the vegetarian wrap there. (And I'm a carnivore.) My sister and I got two wraps that sounded good and were splitting them, and the vegetarian was BY FAR the better of the two. Was talking with someone who was recently at Beach Club and of the food items she mentioned as being outstanding, that was one.

Well, I find myself in a strange situation now. For the first time since 2005, I find myself wanting to do more non-character meals. I'm sure my choices will be vetoed by DS 5 and DD 8. We'll see. Here are the ones I have to choose from. The ones with a * are non-negotiable, even for me.
*Chef Mickey's - breakfast
*Whispering Canyon Cafe - lunch
*1900 Park Fare - supper
*Crystal Palace - lunch
Biergarten - lunch (afraid this one may be too much for DS to handle)
Marakkesh - lunch (DH wants to try, I'm picky though)
Tusker House - breakfast (meh, could take it or leave it)
Akershus - supper (again, could take it or leave it)
Le Cellier - lunch (not sure if I really want to go through the hassle of getting ADR)
Cinderella's Royal Table - lunch or supper (not sure if I'm willing to give up 2 TS credits for it)
Not sure if we are going to make our August trip, but I've still got some time to figure all this out. And we will definitely be on the DDP.

Lost in the Viridian Forest...
The ADR list for this year is rather short for 7 days...
-dinner, Nine Dragons
-dinner, Le Cellier
-dinner, California Grill
-lunch, Sci-Fi (this ADR wasn't made yet, but there are still talks that it's going to happen!)
And although I want to get one last Spoodles visit before it closes (the mussels there are just the BEST), and I'm still die-ing to try Kona Cafe and The Wave, it just seems like thats not going to happen this year. O well...
And from everything I read, I now need to try a Dole Whip!

We went there for Free Dining in 2006 for dinner and disliked it very much. Not one of us thought our meals were good. I had the pasta and my sauce was dried on to the pasta and the flavor was really bad. But! They had the best appetizer of the whole trip. Corn and crab chowder was amazing! I also loved the butter for the bread. It was mustard butter. It was fantastic.
2 TS credits for chowder and butter? Nah! We always wanted to say we ate in the castle though and now we have. Maybe when I have my own kids I will take them for breakfast.
We are hopefully making our ADR list tomorrow. A must for us is Le Cellier and I think we are going to try Teppan Edo and the Luau. I will update you all tomorrow on our decisions!

Question on the Hoop-Dee-Doo and the dining plan. I know you have to give up 2 full service credits and you get tier 2 seating, but can you pay the price difference between tier 2 and tier 1 and upgrade yourself? Just wondering.

Not sure, but if you go to the 9:30PM show the DDP will get you category 1 seats.

Yeah, but we hate the 9:30 show. By the time it ends we just want to go to bed.

If we don't end up cancelling our trip in September, we will be dining at:
Plaza, Crystal Palace (breakfast), Boma (breakfast), LeCellier (lunch or dinner), Biergaten, Yak & Yeti, Sci-Fi and The Wave.
Mini-Trip to CSR (stay number nine) and then Marco Island for free for seven nights (September 17-28, 2010)

Our plan is:
Biergarten (dinner)
Ohana (dinner)
Crystal Palace (breakfast)
California Grill (dinner)
These are for sure- Biergarten may end up being for lunch if cost becomes a factor. If free dining is extended, the 4/3 starts again and/or the state of AZ decides 34 3rd graders in one class is too many and I get rehired for next year
we will be adding:
Sci Fi (lunch)
Rose and Crown (dinner)
Kona (breakfast)
The only place I have been before is Ohana. I really liked everywhere I ate before except Cindy's Royal Table- but I am trying new things! Now, R&C is cheaper than Biergarten, but BG sounded like more fun. Am I making the right choice by dropping R&C if needed?
Why do people go on The Amazing Race without bothering to learn how to drive a stick shift?

We usually alternate every year between R&C and Biergarten. This past September we went to R&C because our best friends came with us (and he had never been) and that is what they wanted. It was a good meal, but not as good as it had been in the past (I found my fish & chips very greasy). We were sorry we did not go to Biergarten and it is back on the table for next year.

The dinner reservations were only available for weird times (4pm is too early for my kids and 9pm is just too late)

What are your concerns about Biergarten with your son?
Also, although Marakkesh is not what you're used to at home, I didn't find the flavors THAT far from what I was used to (I would have liked it to be a little more 'unusual' even!).

He doesn't like lots of crowds or lots of commotion, which really sounds like a contradiction when I say he loves WDW. (Crowds on Main Street are a lot different than a crowded restaurant.) Since I have never been to Biergarten, I don't know what to anticipate in terms of "feel" or atmosphere. I mean, is it wide open and airy feeling like Whispering Canyon, or does it feel more cozy like Cape May Cafe? As long as he doesn't feel too confined, and it doesn't seem chaotic, he should do fine. Organized chaos maybe? He likes Whispering Canyon, but he got a little antsy when we went to the character b-fast at Cape May. There did seem to be a lot of people packed into a small little space.

Okay we decided today and I didn't get the restaurants I wanted but I'll deal.
Primetime Cafe
Tutto Italia
Le Cellier
Polynesian Luau
Yachtman's Steakhouse
Liberty Tree Tavern
We are still up in the air because we will have 1 more TS and right now we are leaning towards Wolfgang Puck Cafe, but that might change.
I have been to Primetime numerous times and I have been to Le Cellier once. Everything else will be new for us.
I'm a little nervous about the Luau and Yachtmen's Steakhouse. I'm not quite sold on Wolfgang Puck yet either.
Everything is for dinner and we are on the Free Dining Plan!

Just a thought to wishiwasthere... My hubby DREADED this ADR so much he tried to get out of it at the last minute. He thought it would be "elf" food (pretty and small portions of nothing you'd REALLY eat). We went and it is now one of his favorite places at WDW. He now REQUESTS to go there. We went at 7:00 at the Cafe' in July (very busy). We both were pleased and we have VERY different eating styles. He is a meat and bread eater and I am vegetarian. I do not think you will regret it.

Yachtsman's is great. Just a nice nice restaurant.
I assume DVCMom was talking about Wolfgang Pucks.
Regarding the Biergarten. I believe it's 2 levels, with the long tables arranged in sort of a starburst so that nobody has their back to the stage. You will likely be sharing a table with another group, so if that's going to add to his stress level, that could be an issue - but it is really up to you to decide how much to interact with them. Because it is two levels, it shouldn't seem to closed in for him (I hope!)

Good to know. Thanks!
Now the Luau! When I return from visiting the family tonight I will investigate to see how others like it. I think Ohanas is probably better. I guess it is good to try new things though.
