Annual Pass Question

Hi. I was wondering if someone could tell me if when you purchase an annual pass online if you are given your pass number right away, or if you are given it when you actually take it to the park to have it processed? The reason I am asking is because I am booking a trip and wanted to take advantage of the stay 3 nights get 2 free promotion (I already have a 3 night trip booked and just wanted to add the 2 free nights). When I called they said that if I wanted to add the 2 free night I had to buy the ticket package as well. Since we are planning on getting annual passes, I told the CM that I didn't want the tickets. He said that in order to bypass the tickets he would need the annual pass numbers of everyone in order to reserve the room. I forgot to ask about what happens if I plan to buy the passes online (if I get a number then) and don't really want to call back and wait on hold forever to talk to someone again, so I am hoping someone on here might know.

Alternatively, I was thinking that we could buy the tickets that come with the package and just upgrade to passes when we get there. Would this work? Would the cost come out to be the same? Any help is appreciated!!

My suggestion, if you're planning to purchase passes, just go ahead and book the room/ticket package and get all the fun little perks. You can upgrade your passes the very first day if you want, but if you're planning to buy deluxe passes, I'd wait until the blackout day to upgrade to save the blackout pass fees.

The cost will be the same if you upgrade the tickets or buy the passes outright. The savings might come into play if you're planning to do deluxe and have a blacked out saturday in the middle of the trip.

Thanks MammaSilvia! I think that is what I will go ahead and do. Since we are planning on getting the premium passes (with no black out dates) it sounds like it will work out to be the same. Can't wait!!

The cost for the passes will be the same, you will have just paid a portion of it in advance by buying the package then paying the difference to upgrade when you arrive. Have a great trip!
