Fantasmic Rope Drop?

I was reading a recent trip report and there was mention of there being a Fantasmic Rope Drop the night they were there. Is this something that just happens between the 1st and 2nd showings? I'd never seen something like that, but haven't been there very many times and have always waited for the first showing. It's always a bit crazy leaving so hadn't paid much attention to whether there was some sort of roped area for the next group waiting to watch.

I am only guessing here. After the first Fantasmic! lets out, they start ushering people out through Adventureland. At this time, they hold up entering traffic at the Frontierland/NOS entrance (where Golden Horseshoe is.) After about 10 minutes, they "drop the rope" there so you can enter.

That's what I've experienced for the second show.
