Help from locals please... [May weather]
We will be in DL May 5th to the 10th. Now I know that we can't predict the weather this far in advance, but I was wondering if anyone can tell me what I might expect. Is it usually warm enough for shorts and swimming? Is it normally rainy? Any info you pass on will be helpful in packing. I know I've got sometime to pack, but the countdown is on and I've got to occupy my self somehow, right??

Every Day Is Disneyland Day!
I'd expect 70's to 80's. Usually mild and warm, rare rain and your best bet is always to dress in layers! It can start cool if there is morning gloom/ marine layer and then get quite warm in the mid-day. May weather is actually awesome DL weather!
Oh, and you can check www.accuweather.com over 2 weeks ahead, they have a 15 day outlook. But check it a few times, things can change!

You may hit the tail end of the rainy season, but remember the rainy season is a light shower for about an hour, and then sunshine.

Thanks so much for your help! It makes it easier to plan, pack and now I can tell the kids what to expect.

I would watch the weather channel the week before you come. The weather in So. Cal. can range from 100 degrees to 50 degrees during the day.

If this is a once in a lifetime or rare trip, then I encourage people to come with a little extra stuff. (I carry almost nothing in the parks but I can come and go anytime.)
Buy some cheap ponchos at the dollar store and carry them around. If it does more than sprinkle, you can happily put them on and stay at the park while the locals freak out. You can also use them for Grizzly Rapids if it's not hot out or you'd just rather not get soaked.
Layers are excellent, as noted. My husband is a big fan of his zip off pants/shorts that are made of quick dry material.
We put our extra layers in a locker because we don't like to carry around more than we have to. It's well worth the cost to us and we know the parks well enough that sending someone to grab item "x" is not a problem. Some people would rather keep it everything with them in a stroller or a backpack.
Use your sunscreen whether it's bright or gloomy. I also encourage sunglasses and a hat. If you are taking good sunglasses, get a cord keeper.
Enjoy your trip!
P.S. Seeing as how you're from Alberta, I imagine you'd find it warm enough for swimming if you came in December. Heck, it hit 76 degrees today and we're starting a cooling trend!
So I'm reading my bean feed...

50 would be a major record in Anaheim in May, as would 100, it is rarely that extreme any time of year but May is usually very mild.

Great advice bennette with the dollars store ponchos and lockers. We have our fingers crossed for HOT weather, but will be prepared for anything!

We were there those exact dates last year, was beautiful. We renewed our vows at Laguna beach and spent the rest of the time at DLR. Weather was a little warm for us, we left Seattle so that is to be expected.
