    Disneyland wheelchairs (manual)

Do I assume it is cheaper to use a local company rather than renting them through Disneyland?

A signle day rental at Disneyland is $12, so if you plan to use it for multiple days, it is a smart thing to do.

Let alone is it cheaper, it is nice to have outside the parks, so you can use it to and from the hotel, going shopping, eating outside the parks, etc.

Most companies deliver to the hotel.

Not sure of the current favorite companies to use, so hopefully someone else can mention a couple for you to contact.

I know that Deckerts and Alan's have been mentioned in the past.

I'm in total agreement with Malcon10t here ... we used them this past October and they were excellent, we rented two ECV's one for less time than the other and there was no fuss no muss, I don't know if they in fact even picked up the second one early but we got charged appropriately and paid much less than we would have at the park.

BTW - I have tried OC Medical also. And used Century Medical. Deckert's has been the best deal. Last trip, we had an issue with the ECV my s-dad rented. They were out in under an hour to replace it.

We used Deckert's in September. They were great. Not sure if it was a 'special' situation or not, but they didn't even charge us for our deposit. That was very convenient just because we didn't have to worry about 'saving' that extra money.

The first time I rented from them, they charged the deposit, which was refunded at the end of the trip. But after you rent from them once, they no longer charge the deposit. I like that they are just friendly, and they offer us a 5% discount for coming back.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but have any of you had experiences renting manual wheelchairs on the East coast (WDW)?

    Thanks!
