    Valentine's Day in the Park...

    Hey everyone,

My boyfriend and I are going to be celebrating Valentine's Day at the DLR we're flying down from Saskatchewan, Canada and are especially excited about the likely forty degree Celsius difference is weather!

I'm curious what the park will be like that day? Not how busy it will be because it's President's Day weekend so I know it will be busy, but the ambiance and any special decorations. We're spending four days in the park, but we decided to spend that day in California Adventure (side question: does your pass allow you to flip between the two parks?).

Also, do you have any suggestions for a nice, not too expensive but willing to put out a few dollars, type of in park dining experience for our Valentine's Day supper? Our first choice is Blue Bayou, but I am concerned that I may need a second choice if priority seating fills up quickly. I will be calling first thing in the morning tomorrow, but I want to be prepared just in case instead of hemming and hawing on the phone and totally missing out!

Thanks folks, you're all so wonderful!

You should be able to switch back and forth between the parks! And also, don't worry about getting reservations for Blue Bayou. You probably won't have much trouble. I called a couple days ago to make lunch reservations for Jan 2nd and got a reservation. Just be warned though, you will most likely be put on hold. I was on hold for about 10 minutes when I gave up and called again 20 minutes later.

    errah errah!

I would make ressies. Valentines Day sees Blue Bayou filling up quickly. As does Napa Rose. (Jan 2 isn't a "romantic holiday" and would be much easier. Blue Bayou is booked completely from Dec 29-Dec 31 right now.)

Yes, I got through this morning after a long wait on hold. She said I got one of the few spots left at the Blue Bayou for Valentine's Day! But I got the reservation, so I'm super excited.

It's means my trip to Disney is less than two months away!!

My husband and I did the same thing for Valentine's Day last year. We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel for 4 days/3 night and spent 3 days in the parks. We had our Valentine's Day dinner at the Blue Bayou as well. They were so great there. They made sure my husband and I got a seat in front of the water so we could watch the boats go by. We didn't even ask for this seating. When we said thank you and told her how much we appreciated it she just said 'Happy Valentine's day!' Our waiter was awesome! At the end of our meal he saw that we had a camera and he asked if we wanted a picture at our table to remember our Valentine's dinner!!! We had the best time! Oh! And the food is great!

They will have a lot of Valentine's merchandise for sell all over Disney but really that's it. I didn't anything else going on for Valentine's Day besides the merchandise. Which I was a little disappointed but just being in Disneyland for Valentine's Day is special enough. Esp with a dinner like that!

    Have fun!!!

My family of 4 went for Valentine's Day in 2006 and we didn't really notice anything special, although a plane "wrote" a heart in the sky above. Was cute. Don't know if it was a Disney thing tho. HAHAHA

I have been thinking about what to do for Valentine's Day this year, and although DL is not in the plans I sure wish it was! I was thinking that if DH were to surprise me with an overnight at DL, 2 days in the parks and dinner at Napa Rose, I would be thrilled! Not gonna happen this year but I will put a bug in his ear for the future. It sounds so fun.
