I have only had breakfast -- and it was great. The ambiance was very nice. Mature Disney.

The diner menu looked very nice. Pricey, but you're on the resort, so that goes with the territory.

Bob Genghis Khan, So-crates Johnson, Dennis Frood, & uh, uh... Abraham Lincoln // I've been ionized ... but I'm okay.

    Mmmmmmmmmmmm....Steakhouse 55.

The good: Nice atmosphere with a sweet nod to the history of Walt (have someone tell you about all the Walt pics~especially the large one on your left when you first walk into the dining room). It has wonderful food, nummy desserts, and great drinks.

The bad: When the bill comes!

The ugly: that Evian water you just drank? Yeah. It cost you an arm and a leg. So, when they ask if you want spring or sparkling, ask if you can have "table" water, unless you don't mind paying serious $$ for water.

Both times we've gone, my husband has had the fillet mignon. I'm not a big red meat eater but this? Amazing. It melted in my mouth. Delicious! One time, I had the Shelton free range chicken breast. It was so good. Very nicely seasoned. The other time, I had the broiled salmon. It was good as well but not as good as the chicken.

You can order the starters, soup/salads, and other "sides" separately. We've only done the choose your own and have not done the prix fixe menu, although they do have that option. Over the past couple times we've gone, we've had a mixture of the following:
Starters: crab cake (just ok, in my opinion) and popcorn rock shrimp (again, just ok). Salads: baby spinach with bacon (veerrrrry good but much too much for one to eat), and the wedge (also very good). The "sides": sauteed green beans (so good~very fresh), steamed asparagus (I ordered it with the Hollandaise on the side~the asparagus was cooked just perfect and very fresh), the broccoli crown (good!), the roasted heirloom potatoes (SOOOO good!!) and my husband's fave: Yukon gold garlic and herbed mashers.

It was fun to order 3 sides to share~both times we've gone, we ordered 2 "veggie" sides and one starch.

For dessert, we've had the flour-less chocolate cake (so rich we couldn't finish it together), the creme brulee (the only brulee I've ever liked!) and the seasonal tarts. The first time, we each ordered a dessert and couldn't finish. The next time, we went with one dessert to share and it was perfect.

Oh, and we usually don't eat lunch when we've known we were going to eat there!

Thank you so much for your response. We are going to NR the night before and this type of restaurant (meat and taters) is more of DH's type. We both love steak and since we are going without DS, we thought this would be a good time to try it for dinner.

Lightbulb Request booth or private table seating!

We ate at Steakhouse 55 and found everything to be wonderful except the seating. We arranged priority seating 2 months in advance, but that does not gaurantee where you are seated. We were placed in an aisle style seating where it was one long booth style seat on on side, a row of several smaller tables, and single chairs on the other side. This arrangement would have been just fine except the tables are literally side by side with only 6 inches seperating them. It was like we were in our neighbors conversation which was uncomfortable since we were on our honeymoon and our neighboring dinner guests were having a girls chat about how much they hated their husbands.

However, the food was wonderful. They offered a pre-set Chef's special meal that included 5 courses and was only $20, among other regular priced meals. The only thing we added was a side of asparagus which was perfect. Perfect quantity size.

We couldn't take anymore jib-jab from our neighbors so we requested our desserts to go and they were very accomodating and even gave us an extra treat.

We are going back for candlelight and will request a private table this time.

    Cool

We were thankful for beef and lamb Thanksgiving, although they had a set menu with Turkey and such for $40.

The good: Filet mignon, sauce bernaise, rack of lamb, potatoes au gratin, garlic mashed potatoes, Yukon Gold potatoes, hot sourdough bread, Glenfiddich scotch.

    The bad: Not applicable.

    The ugly: Very pricey.

We hope to go again one day; the boy was literally bouncing in his seat after one bite!

    A bientot.

Do Deluxe AP's get the ten percent discount here? For some reason I thought I read that at NR you don't....

We have a Deluxe Ap too.

They do give a 10% discount at Steakhouse 55.

When we were last a Napa Rose and showed our AP to our fabulous waiter we received free desserts for both my husband and I. I believe they said it was because we were AP's and celebrating a special occasion.

Napa Rose actually doesn't offer any AP discounts at all.
Now different is nice, but it sure isn't pretty, pretty is what it's about
I never met anyone who was different who couldn't figure that out
But beautiful, I'd never live to see
But it was clear, if not to her, well, then to me.

We went last Monday because Hook's Point was closed. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Food and service was great even though there was a party of 22 seated right after we were. And the park was so dead, we were able to be seated without reservations.
