Sweet! Thanks guys!!
Sweet! Thanks guys!!
This is my family. I found it, all on my own. Is little, and broken, but still good. Yeah, still good.

Gotta ask your self about the book. We live in the Seattle area, but here we are pretty much homebodies saving for our next Disney trip. I bought the Orange County one because we go hogwild when we get there. For us it made more sense to get the OC one. Also, check Entertainment.com regularly as they have specials every week, either free shipping, or discounts. Also, the book expires in November of the year you purchase it (Or at least ours did) so if you are going in December you will actually want the 2009 book.

Thanks for all the wonderful information. Our trip is in 11 days! We can't wait to experience Halloween in the Happiest Place on Earth!
Crowded classrooms and half-day sessions are a tragic waste of our greatest national resource - the minds of our children.

I know someone who called to get rates at HoJo's, and she asked if they could give her a better rate than what she saw online, and they said sorry but no. Then they asked her if she has AAA, to get a better price. So maybe you can combine discounts? That would be awesome, as I have an AP, and AAA, and someone said something about using MP to get a discount? How does that work?
I just got my entertainment book in the mail for El Paso, and the deals are great. It'll easily pay for itself, and save you 50% off along the way at Hojo. And when I made my reservations for December, I didn't have my card yet, you just show it when you get there.
How do you get this book??? You said 50% off at HoJo's????
We are thinking of staying there because the rates at Homewood Suites are more expensive that usual right now (like $40 a night more).
I have never stayed at HoJo, but those on this board seem to be happy with it.
I booked my stay there for December. 79 a night, AP discount. I'm looking foward to it.
And now the Hojo is booked for the nights I want. Grrrr.
A TON of spring dates were jsut released on the SD50 code today! INCLUDING MY DATES whooop whoop whoop!
THe hojo ananheim forum has the SD50 rate days listed and remember if you need a date thats not discounted dont include it in your search or you wont get the rate for any days
sounds like most people make 2 seperate reservations or maybe they phone their reservations I'm not sure because I booked my vacation ONLY on discounted dates
I just called and made mine. Only one of my nights was available at that rate but the 15% off the other two is still a good deal.
You can check here to see what dates that rate is/was offered. Looks like they are listing through about mid June currently.

Enjoying the sunshine and blue skies of Phoenix between Disney trips.
I wonder if you make two separate reservation if they will try to keep you in the same room, or if you'll have to switch halfway through. If I buy an Entertainment Book it'll easily save me $500!! Does anyone know if I buy one in Canada if it will still be valid in the USA when I go down for my trip? Or do you think that I should just bite the bullet (be safe rather than sorry) and buy the one from Orange County?

I book 2 reservations, then call and ask to put the reservations together. Not a problem.
Planning 3 trips at once...
I was having trouble with the webpage telling me it was not availble even though it was on the list of dates that were just released that day. ( listed on the Hojo Message boards)
I phoned the 1-800# and they got me in with that code over the phone no prob!

Okay, so tonight I went to book the room at HOJO for my specified dates Feb 14-19 but when I pressed submit after filling out all my information it told me the rate was not available... Does this mean all the rooms at this rate are sold out or that it's not available to Canadians? Any suggestions?
I live in California and of the three times that I tried to book the entertainment rate online (for 3 separate trips), I was unsuccessful. But then I'd call the HoJo on-site reservation staff the next day (714-776-6120) and they were able to book at the entertainment rate without any issues. Two different HoJo staff members have told me that they're not sure why the rate isn't always bookable (is that a word?) online, but they've heard that complaint before. So, it might be worth calling them to see if they can book it over the phone for you.
The hotel availability website frequently does not jibe with the booking website. Call the hotel directly 714-776-6120 at and speak to their In-House Reservations, they are SPECTACULAR. They are able to book dates that the Entertainment Book rate is not available in between dates that it is, which the booking website cannot do. One time when they were closed on Sunday but I needed to book an Entertainment Book rate reservation for Monday night, they had me book through the corporate website - which was not honoring the Entertainment Book rate - then they adjusted the rate back down to the Entertainment Book rate.

The general consensus is that the In-House Reservations people at HoJo Anaheim are more knowledgeable, more courteous, and generally more helpful than the Central Reservations people at Howard Johnson corporate.
Hey, just wanted to say thanks to everyone for answering all my questions. I called HOJO in Anaheim directly today and you were absolutely right, they were very helpful, accommodating and she was very cheerful to boot! We were able to the the Entertainment Book rate no problem and even for one more night that we didn't think was available. She also gave us the option of not booking a room facing the highway (Building 1) but in Building 2 instead. I'm curious if anyone has a preference between the two. Do you like building one or building two better? I just read about someone's poor experience in building two and now I'm paranoid... Haha.
Again, thanks a lot everyone!!
