Staying at HoJo's in August, a few questions
I'm taking my teenagers in August, and have booked 7 nights at HoJo's. We are planning 3 days at Disneyland, and a day each at a few other places. I've made the reservation already and was told that we have a 2 Queen bed room in building 2, near the 'quiet pool'
Could you tell me what kind of requests I should make regarding our room to make sure we have the best room possible? I know this building is not the tower, but has 4 floors I think. It seems to back onto the freeway, so I'll ask for a room on the pool side. Would a room overlooking Harbour Blvd be too noisy? Would a room in the tower be preferable?
Any other thought on requests that would get us the best room would be helpful-- thanks!

Bldg 2, IMO, is the best. there are no freeway side rooms. There are only rooms on the pool side. Others may have more tips, but as for switching to the Tower, if it were me, I'd stick with bldg 2 in a heartbeat.

I like Tower 1, premium rooms facing Disney, BUT they are more expensive, and they will charge for the upgrade.

Bldg. 2 rooms are my favorite as well. And they have just recently added microwaves to all these rooms.
Really, they are all the same, but some have balconies, and some just have windows facing the pool, so if you want a balcony, you need to request it.

I think you will be happy right where you are at, but if your travel agent has a good relationship with HoJo ask them to request a free upgrade for you!
Have a wonderful time. HoJo is my fav in that category!

I think building 2 is fine and you'll be happy there, but I do think it's worth trying for an upgrade to a bldg 1 premium room if you can. They gave us an upgrade this June and it was fantastic to have a theme park view along with a mini fridge and microwave. I love Hojos and we've gotten such great service there. If you have questions for them you can e-mail Lorealle at:

She's was SO helpful!!

First, the "quiet pool" is now the "main" with the change to the kids mini water park where the front pool used to be. This is just MHO - Buildings 1 and 2 have their plus and minus sides. Plus side - Buidling 1 Premium Room top floor, great view of Disneyland and DCA, side away from I5, upgraded beds. Minus side - waiting for elevator on a busy day, top floor has a barely discernable rumble from the elevator motors if you very very sensitive to noise, afternoon sun is directly on some of the balconies. Plus side Building 2 - all rooms are away from the I5 facing inward - the rooms that back up to Harbor have balconies that are wonderful in the morning sun and shaded in the afternoon, only 4 floors tall so elevator waits are short. Minus - other than pool noise - hmmmm can't think of one at the moment.
One of the best thing about HJ is the ENTIRE hotel is smoke free. Hope this helps.

Lorealle just announced on the HoJo boards this weekend that the microwaves have been added to all bldg. 2 NQQ2 rooms.

Thank you everyone for your replies! I'm more excited to go now. Building 2 sounds perfect for us.

Going in December
After too long of a hiatus (gosh the economy stinks), we are finally returning to DL in December. We have 2 rooms booked in Bldg 2. Do the rooms there all have refrigerators, of do i need to request one?

OK, I am sitting in a Tower 1 Room at Hojo's while typing this
And I have stayed in tower 2, which is a GREAT building, and is a "Tower" as it is about 7 stories tall...
As I know, EVERY room at HoJo's has a fridge.... (SOME rooms have a Microwave, but not all)

Tower 1 is 7 stories.
Tower 2 is only 4 stories.
Both towers have elevators.
The pavillion buildings (3-6) are 2 levels and do not have elevators.
But every room at the HoJo does have a fridge. Only Premium View rooms in Bldg. 1 have micros, and now all the Queen/Queen rooms in Bldg. 2 have micros.

Off-topic but related to HoJos--I know that they offer WiFi in the lobby/ground floor area of Building 1...do/did they at one time offer WiFi on certain Building 1 floors, or was it that I happened to be staying in a room on a floor close enough to have picked up the WiFi signal? I ask because I was able to receive WiFi when I was staying in a room on the 3rd floor during a stay last year (I know we were on the 3rd floor 'cuz our room # was 1313--the first digit designates the building number, the second digit represents the floor number--which we would have a hard time forgetting since that's the street number for Disneyland's "official" address), but could not pick up a signal when I was on the 4th floor during our recent July 4th stay.
