Many years ago, I took my son for a 3-day trip (DCA was under construction). The first morning we went to Toon Town and the first ride we got in line for was Gadget's Go Coaster. It was a very long wait, probably close to an hour, but the excitement of being at DL got us through that. We boarded the train for the very short ride. When we got back to the station, we stopped with a slight jerk, and my son reaches up to his neck and shouts "Owww"! He had sustained a minor whiplash. We took the walk to First Aid on Main Street, and he had a lie down for a while. I thought here we are in the first hour of our 3-day trip and he's out for the count!!! Fortunately, after a rest, he was feeling better and we ended up closing the park every night! So that would qualify as the most painful attraction.

My favorite ride is POTC, but the back of the seat hits my back in this particular spot that really hurts. I can't really lean back, especially when the ride first starts.

At my age, the swinging SunWheel buckets are off my list, too dizzy
afterwards. I can handle back to back rides on Screamin' but 3 times is a bit too much. Overall, the appeal of Disney attractions gives me enough of a thrill as opposed to more extreme coasters at Magic Mtn.

Amen to that! I don't think any for me are particularly painful, I have never hurt myself on one. However like the above statement, Magic Mountain and our Elitch's have many painful, now I have a headache and backache for the rest of the day rides I would rather just skip!!
Have a Disney Day!
You don't have to walk on water, it's how you walk on land.

Every Day Is Disneyland Day!
The death cars on the Sun Wheel freak me out... did it once before I had kids with a CM friend who made the thing swing as hard as he could, insisting it could handle much more than he could dish out, never doing it again - EVER - not even in a stationary car.
Indy is the most physically painful for me, I don't ride it anymore since that girl died on her Honeymoon after riding it, because I have health issues myself and don't want to be on the special list of people who've died at Disneyland.

California Screamin is the most uncomfortable because the shoulder harness doesn't fit me well, but I still ride it. The spinning cars on the sunwheel are the closest I've ever been to losing my lunch at D-Land.
Emotionally scarring: I haven't been on IASW since the mid-90s, when the ride broke down and kept us trapped just inside the exit, with that song going over and over. After about 15 minutes my friend and I climbed out of the boat and walked out on our own. Never again!

Physically Painful: Star Tours makes me soooo nauseous. I can't ride it anymore.
Emotionally Painful: Mullholand Madness takes the CAKE. I've done it only twice, and both times, I have never been more sure I was going to die.

Let me add 1 more vote for Astro Orbitor and Mulholland Madness. AO is just uncomfortable from the moment I climb into the car, until the moment I climb out. The angle is just so weird as well. MM is more because there is absolutely ZERO leg room, and I am only 6ft tall. I don't mind the idea that I could fly off the tracks at any moment, that's part of the fun!
I also experience discomfort on any ride that has a steep climb, such as Space or Splash, where you are cruising along, and all of a sudden LURCH! the car/log/ship lurches forward to climb the hill. That always causes a bit of back pain unless I am leaning forward so that my back is not touching the seat.
Does that stop me from riding? No. (Well, sometimes I avoid MM or AO, but not always)
Planning for a trip in summer 2013! That will be 3 years since I've been, very excited to see all the newness

Space Mt. was awful for me.
I was so nauseated and felt sick for a good 3 hours. Loved everything else.
Oh yes, we're going back soon!!!! As soon as my DH gets more time off work!
Always planning at least one trip to Disneyland!

Matterhorn, hands down, but I will do this with a group if they all want to go.
The swinging cars on the Sun Wheel. Those I will NOT do again. If I'm with a group, I'll sit it out.
I don't think I've done Astro Orbitor at DL since they took it off the pedestal - the angle and the very difficult in and out process, coupled with the 'nothing to see' view, takes them off my list. Again, I'd probably do if a group wanted to.

Emotionally scarring? The tortilla "attraction" at DCA. ("What the HECK kind of park is this?!! Did we somehow stumble into cheap fairgrounds?") We didn't go back to that half of the park for seven years.
I still get pretty stressed out when I have to walk by. Of course my kids just found out about it and think the "free" tortillas are the coolest.
So I'm reading my bean feed...

Pinocchio
When I go alone to the park and spend the money my husband is working so hard to earn I can't go on the Pinocchio ride because I'm afraid I'll go into the amusement park scene and turn into a donkey and never get out.

I personally dub it the Hellwheel. Or Devilwheel. And not just the swinging cars, which I'd never, ever, EVER try....the stationary cars freak me out.
Hate. It.

The sunwheel, swinging or non-swinging cars, has never bothered me. I look at it as a great place to take pictures of the park.

Me TOO. I've never even tried the swinging cars. I tried the stationary cars ONCE, because my friends talked me into it. NEVER AGAIN.

Have you ever tried Bonine? We were at WDW last year and while we were waiting for the Nemo show a lady behind us was talking about it so I listened and then asked her about it. It helps with motion sickness and doesn't make you sleepy like Dramamine. I was really curious about it because DH and I had gotten sick when we flew (the first time in 9 yrs for me and 15 yrs. for him) and we have 2 kids who get car sick on every trip we take. You can't take it right before though, it needs a good hour to work. It may be worth a shot.

Yeah, but on your birthday, you get a whole pack of them, lol. I agree, though. It IS a pretty weird thing to put in there.

Sunwheel's got my vote too. They need to put a Panic Button in the cars. The union representing the janitors (who would benefit from having to clean up less bodily discharges) should press for this.

Mine has to be IASW. The wife thinks we need to go on it 3-4 times a day because the baby loves it so much. Of course I retaliate with insisting we go on Heimlich's chew-chew train.

I love IASW!

This was my first thought. I love the Matterhorn but it's a very bumpy ride.

From the Dec 18th 2006 MP Disneyland Park Update:
"Another legal setback
Disneyland has been handed a judicial setback in a lawsuit over liability following the death of a Spanish woman in 2000. On June 25 of that year, Christie Moreno of Barcelona rode Indiana Jones Adventure and then began complaining of headaches. Eventually she was hospitalized, where a brain hemorrhage was found to be the cause of her problems. After lingering in a coma, Moreno passed away on September 1, 2000. Her family has claimed that the harsh motions and jerkiness of the Indiana Jones Adventure attraction was the cause of Moreno's illness.
In pressing their case, the plaintiffs have argued that they should be able to present to the jury changes made to the ride in 2002. They claim the changes were made to make the ride smoother and safer (implying it was less safe before that) while Disney contended that the changes were unrelated to safety and had no bearing at all on the case at hand.
Last week, the judge ruled that the family could present the information on ride changes to the jury."
