Saratoga Springs entry doors...inside or out?

Are the room entrance doors at Saratoga Springs resort external like Old Key West or are there lobbies and elevators in each building more similar to Boardwalk?

External. We stayed at Congress Park. You get on the elevator which was covered but not enclosed in a "lobby" and when you exit you are on a covered walkway that takes you to your room. The walkways were not covered on the side so it made a nice breeze for the second floor. Hope this helps. We enjoyed our stay there more than we thought as it was not our first choice. We used some of our "developer" points. However by the end of our weekend we had enjoyed the location. The CS was unusual to us as it was part of the retail store and used the same cash registers. We will use the TS on our next trip for lunch the day we arrive. Although it was a large resort, the buses stop at each section which did not prove to be the issue we thought it might be. The pool looked interesting and the resort had many things to do without leaving the property. BTW READ the paperwork at check-in. We did not realize until we came home they had LOTS of entertainment on-site for kids while we were there. On such a short trip we may not have used it but would have been nice to have the option.

    Thanks DVCmom!
Were you happy with the Congress Park location? I keep seeing everyone saying to ask for the Springs. Does it really matter what area you are in?

A lot of people want the Springs because it's close to the main building and pool. If you don't mind a walk or a bus ride to the main building then you can be in any section. They all have a bus stop that is serviced by all the same buses.

The bus locations were so frequent around it prolly wouldn't matter. We enjoyed the lake and DTD from our view.

I must be one of the rare people who really liked the Carousel area. We had a rental car, so getting around the resort was easy, plus the Carousel is the very first entrance you get to when you come in the main entrance to SSR. It was very quiet out there.
