    to travel agent or not?

question for you learned guys out there...are there better deals to be had from various travel agents than the Disney Travel Co? We joined the Disney Club, and got a decent price for a week in Feb., however, I'm reading a lot about booking resort and ticket sep. for better prices. Any one care to recommend on method over another? Much thanks everyone.

    Travel agent or Disney direct....

    Hi,

That's a pretty tough call. I think it may depend on where you're staying and whether you're flying or not.

Recently, due to various airlines slashing commission that was being paid to local travel agents, some agents are beginning to implement a "service charge" that varies in price. In some instances, depending on the size of your travelling party, that may add up to a significant amount of money if they're charging a fee PER AIRLINE TICKET.

Also, depending WHEN in February you plan on visiting may have a great impact on what you can find for a discount so to speak. I know from being in the travel business for years that no one gets any type of break during "February school vacation week".

Honestly, it wouldn't hurt to explore ALL options, where you currently have something already reserved, you have something to fall back on if you can't get a better rate. In some instances, again depending on the travel dates, using a rate code supplied from various web sites, you may be better off making your arrangements on your own.

    Hope this helped.

    Take care,

    Bob
