Did runDisney stumble with the new pink Coast to Coast medal?

If you read our Team MousePlanet forum on MousePad, you've already seen an ongoing thread about the the new 10K that was added to the 2014 Princess Half Marathon Weekend.
In addition to the new 10K, runDisney is introducing a new achievement called the Glass Slipper Challenge for runners who participate in both the newly announced 10K and the half marathon together in the same weekend.
The third big announcement they made? If you run the Tinker Bell Half Marathon in January (in Disneyland in Anaheim) and the Princess Half Marathon in February (in Walt Disney World in Florida), you get a special pink version of the Coast to Coast medal.
So far as I can tell, it is identical to the regular Coast to Coast medal a runner gets for completing a half (or full) marathon in WDW, and a half marathon in Disneyland.
However here is where things get a little complicated.
runDisney is only giving you a pink medal if you run both the Tinker Bell and the Princess. That much is fine.
But what happens if you've already signed up to do the Walt Disney World Half Marathon in January, AND you were planning on doing the Tinker Bell and Princess as well?
That was me earlier this year. My 2013 bucket list was to do all the runDisney half marathons, so I've already run the WDW, Tinker Bell, and Princess. Later this year, I will be running the Disneyland Half and the Wine and Dine Half.
Here's the catch: Historically, runDisney has only allowed a person to get ONE Coast to Coast medal. So for me, I got mine in January after I did the Tinker Bell.
If I did that same bucket list next year, what would happen? Do I get a regular Coast to Coast medal after I finish the Tinker Bell Half in Anaheim (just a week after the WDW Half)? But then I will have gotten my ONE C2C medal... so when I go back to Florida to do the Princess, am I no longer eligible to get the PINK version?
This seems wrong to me, considering I would be making an EXTRA trip to Florida to do the Princess.
Do I pass up a regular C2C medal after Tinker Bell, and just wait to get a pink one? What if something happens and I can't run the Princess? Obviously I wouldn't be eligible to get a pink medal then... but I WILL have already qualified for a regular C2C medal. Except that I would have passed on it. Would there be a way for me to retroactively redeem my regular one for the two halves I already did?
Here is the main problem, as I see it.
runDisney chose to announce this AFTER they opened registration for the new WDW 10K and Dopey Challenge. Had they announced the new 10K in both the WDW and Princess events at the same time, people would have been allowed to choose.
I'm betting a lot of people went for the Minnie 10K and "blew their WDW trip budget" on that one.
Had they announced it at the same time, people would have been able to choose between doing WDW in January, or WDW in February.
runDisney didn't do it that way. But I also don't think they thought this one through before making the announcement.
I think all that is needed from runDisney is a clarification. In my opinion, if they're going to make a special edition C2C medal for just the two events, they should make an exception and allow people to get the normal one as well. They just won't be able to get the normal one with the Tink/Princess combo... but they should be able to get the NORMAL C2C medal with a WDW Half/Tink combo, or Princess/DL Half combo (or a Tink/Wine & Dine).
In my opinion, that's the right thing to do.
