Coming soon to Walt Disney World - Monthly Payment Annual Passes

Sources at Walt Disney World tell MousePlanet that the monthly payment plan first offered to Disneyland Annual Passholders in late 2008 will be extended to Walt Disney World Passholders later this year. The official announcement is expected sometime next week, when Disney is also expected to debut a new Annual Passport that will be valid at both the Florida and California Resorts.

Few details are available about the Walt Disney World monthly payment option, which is not expected to...

Tables in Wonderland adds more restaurants for 2010

Tables in Wonderland, the discount dining program available to Florida residents ($100) and Passholders ($75), has added 11 new restaurants for 2010. The program gets members a 20 percent discount on all food and beverages at participating Walt Disney World restaurants, as well as opportunities to attend special dining events.

New for 2010 are:

  • ESPN Sports Cafe (at Wide World of Sports)

Cast member dies from injury during "Epic" rehearsal

Monday night, a cast member was injured during a rehearsal of the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at Disney's Hollywood Studios park, and later died from the injury.

The performer was performing a tumbling roll when the injury occurred. He was transported to the hospital by paramedics, but he died later that night. Disney notified the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and OSHA of the accident.

Free dining at Walt Disney World through December 17!

The down economy continues to challenge Disney to fill their hotel rooms, which is resulting in a continuing stream of deals for you!

Walt Disney World has just announced free dining packages for September 27 through December 17. Right now it's only available to Disney Visa cardmembers (use codes EVN or GCA), but it will open for general availability on Sunday morning.

NOTE: This offer is not available November 25-28, the Wednesday through Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend....

NTSB: Driver of Monorail Purple tried to avoid crash

Austin Wuennenberg, the monorail operator killed in Sunday morning's accident, may have helped to keep the passengers on Monorail Purple from injury.

The National Transportation Safety Board released a "factual information" media advisory today related to its investigation into the collision. The facts appear to be very similar to those that were reported in Monday's Walt Disney World Update and Tuesday's MouseStation Podcast.
