  1. News From Cast Place: Living With the Disneyland College Program

When MousePlanet originally ran the article, Earningland and Learningland, there was one component that was mentioned as missing from the revamped Disneyland College Program (DLCP): the living.

Since that interview ran the DLCP has added housing - yes! -- so students from all over the country can participate and not have to worry where they will bunk down at the end of their shift at the resort.

    So what changed?

"It's been one of those thing that has ...

  2. Pleasure Island (June 1, 1989 - September 27, 2008)

Among my first thoughts when I heard the news (aside from "we've need to make sure that we go during our August trip") were the final words of the original Planet of the Apes: "You maniacs! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you all to hell!"

I'm a little calmer now (just a little), so maybe I don't condemn them as sharply as George Taylor (played by Charlton Heston) condemned the human race in the classic science fiction film. Still I think of what Pleasure Island was like, ...
  3. Dining changes coming; ADRs going from 180 to 90 days?

While it hasn't been "officially" confirmed, Walt Disney World has made a bunch of interesting dining changes.

First off, from August 24 - September 27, Disney will increase the opportunities for the crowds with free dining to use their table service credits.

    Chef Mickey's will be open for lunch from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m.

Ohana will be open an extra hour for breakfast, from 7:30 a.m., and open an hour earlier for dinner, now from 4:00 - 10:00 p.m.

  4. Q & A with Disney on the closure of Pleasure Island's nightclubs

I presented a list of questions regarding the closure of the six remaining nightclubs at Pleasure Island to Walt Disney World spokeswoman Jacquee Polak. Here is the complete list, along with her responses:

    -----

MG: Is there a timetable on the redevelopment? Are any of the new tenants signed already? When can we expect announcements?

JP: The changes will take place over the next two years.

Downtown Disney will be getting its own iconic ...
  5. What will YOU celebrate at the Disneyland Resort next year?

If the commercial being filmed on Main Street yesterday afternoon can be taken as confirmation of a rumor I've been hearing for a couple of months, it looks like the Disneyland Resort will promote the Year of Celebrations in 2009, with the tag line "What Will You Celebrate?"

Portions of Main Street were roped off yesterday so film crews could tape footage of a princess gown-clad child and her mother walking down the lane, with the grandparents keeping pace a few feet behind. Cast ...
