Walt Disney World free dining packages now available to general public

Free dining is now available to the general public at the same terms as the pre-sale to Disney Visa cardholders: travel August 16 - October 3, book by June 21, basic dining plan by default, upgradeable to other dining packages.

Availability opens this morning. Rate code for basic dining is RYH. We don't have the codes for the upgraded packages, but we'll post them as soon as we have them.

Free dining released for Disney Visa cardholders - general availability soon?

Walt Disney World Magic Your Way packages with free dining plan have been released for Disney Visa cardholders only, according to Sue Pisaturo of MousePlanet sponsor Small World Vacations.

The rates are good for travel dates August 16 - October 3, and must be booked between today and June 21.

As before, the included dining plan is the Basic plan, with a discounted upgrade to the Deluxe plan. It seems that Disney has not downgraded the free plan to the Quick Service...

Get out those quarters!

If you prefer rental cars to Disney's Magical Express, get your quarters ready. The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that the Orlando Expressway Authority has voted to increase tolls by 25 cents beginning April 5. This means that, if you take the Central Florida Greeneway (S.R. 417), the fastest route from Orlando International Airport to Walt Disney World, your two $1 tolls will become $1.25 and your total toll expense will go from $2 to $2.50 each way.

Nearly 30 "Idol" stars to appear at attraction's opening Thursday

While only one of this year's four judges will be in attendance, the lineup of stars at this Thursday's world premiere of The American Idol Experience is still a virtual who's-who of the popular show.

While the main event will be invitation-only, the motorcade through the Disney's Hollywood Studios park at 4:30 p.m. will be open to all guests.
