I got into the race on a second chance email from Nike after I had already registered for the NJ half marathon the following weekend, but I couldn't pass it up. I went into the race knowing that I would take it easy since my goal was to run for time in NJ. The race "Expotique" and packet pickup was a in a tent set up along the Potomac just down the street from Nike Georgetown. Our bib numbers were assigned to us when we picked up our packets, so no personalized bibs for this race. ...
Registration for the 2014 Walt Disney World marathon weekend opens tomorrow, and runDisney has announced some changes to make the event better for participants. They are reducing the number of participants by 2,000 (mainly in the half marathon), and they are expanding the number of corrals to decrease crowding on the course. It seems some select runDisney participants have received a survey recently asking the following question: "runDisney is considering hosting a Half Marathon event in Paris, France in the Fall of 2014 (between late September and early November). The Disneyland® Paris Half Marathon race course would wind through both Disneyland Paris theme parks and Disney® Village, with the last 8–9 miles running through the countryside surrounding the Disneyland Paris parks."
