  1. Shareholder meeting goes into the Q&A - Zoom!

    Only one comment during the business portion, someone questioning the $29 million paid to Bob Iger as CEO. All questions passed easily. Bob Iger, Tom Staggs and Alan Braverman are joining Pepper on the stage for the Q&A. Let's see how quickly they wrap this up.
  2. Shareholder meeting - That's it?

    They've already gone straight into the business portion of the shareholder meeting. If things go smoothly (i.e., Mrs. Evelyn Y. Davis doesn't make a scene and there aren't too many questions in the Q&A portion), they could be done with the entire meeting in less than an hour.

  3. Shareholder meeting - Later in the year?

    At the shareholder meeting, after talking about the opening of Toy Story Mania at Disney's California Adventure, Disney CEO Bob Iger just said that the attraction will also open in Orlando "later in the year." Later in the year? I thought that they were supposed to open at the same time? Or is everything relative and "the same year" is close enough for "at the same time"?

    Aside from that, nothing out of the ordinary at the meeting, except for the fact that they've done very little ...
  4. Kingdom Tower - So Now Can We Call It Official?

    Now that the Orlando Sentinel has found a filing indicating that Disney has received approval to start selling units there, can we now officially say that the new building next to the Contemporary is a DVC resort?

    I first reported the intent back in late 2005, before the target moved and moved again before getting more confirmation in mid-2006, with official paperwork for the construction compound being discovered later in 2006 and paperwork on the resort itself being found in early 2007. ...

  5. Who Wants to Be an "American Idol"?

    Yeah, so Walt Disney World has announced that they will be building an "American Idol" attraction in the old Monster Sound Show/Superstar Television theater row. I guess it fits in with the "Hollywood Studios" theme.



    While it seems to go along with the "more interactive attractions" push, it just doesn't seem "Disney" to me. I guess they want to give the Studios park more of an ...
